Raleigh Racing R5000

I got hold of an R5000 from a buddy of mine some time ago. I started trying to find out as much about the Raleigh Racing series as i could. I found a few pics of some of the bikes in team colors and decided to go with that for inspiration.
I just got the bike finished for the Burnerworld Raleigh BMX show over here in the UK at the begining of May. Here are the pics i got the idea from and how the build turned out. Hope you like it.

Beautiful! The chain is a little distracting, but overall an incredible bike.

Re: Raleigh Racing R5000

That cruiser is sweet. The pic at the top left is the team captain on a cruiser here is the back of the card. I believe they made them from 83.

Re: Raleigh Racing R5000

It's an 83 frame but could have been sold early 84. I know the 84 range changed over to the bologna style dropouts.

Re: Raleigh Racing R5000

George is on facebook, you can hit him up there.  The other rider is Sam Arellano.  I believe he works for Giant now.  George and I used to hang out at nationals.  Good dude.

Re: Raleigh Racing R5000

I put in a facebook search and only came up with one result. I messaged him just asking if he had any info about the team paint on the frames and what have you. The reply i got from the one result was "Sorry i am not the same George Antill your looking for, sorry i couldn't help"
I should have tried for Sam too.

Re: Raleigh Racing R5000

Very nice dude. The finish on the frame kinda reminds me of the old super burner and tuff burner smile
