Oh man, I completely forgot about those seat-post covers. What a trip! That bike looks cool, and vaguely familiar. Columbia was a a department store brand, if I recall correctly. Does anyone remember the places that sold these bikes? I know I've seen this one somewhere before, just can't place it in my head.

Re: 1987 Columbia Free Style Big Boss

They were in the Sears or JCPenny's catalogs. Maybe K-Mart carried them in their stores as well.  It's very important to keep your seat posts covered:P

all i can use is.... S&M DTF 21.25 frame ;  28t Fit 24mm spline drive sprocket [without insert is fine];  a 2013 WTP atlas or cheap cro-mo 24" race bike ; 14" wheel scooter; 21.25"+ tt USA-made frames; some sort of dj of trials bike that i can bust the city on. oh ... and just a Homeless Mack Stoopid long ;)

Re: 1987 Columbia Free Style Big Boss

Had this same bike!! Bought from Toys R Us. wow- i want it.

Pro Class 24/ 83 Supergoose III/ 84 Californian / 83 Minigoose / 95 Expert Comp / 87 Performer x's two/ 89 Jr Performer/ 87 PFT

If I owe you feedback.. please don't hesitate to tell me ;)

It's fun to see the same clapped out 20$ part posted at the same price, for the 30th time. At what point will you just give it to someone who might use it?

Truly- you have a dizzying intelect

Re: 1987 Columbia Free Style Big Boss

I solt it on ebay for like 275 I think I kinda wish I would have kept it but it wasnt that nice to ride the frame was weird it had a 17.5 inch top tube and a really short bottom tube so your knees were almost hitting the bars it was still a cool bike. But I like to ride my bikes so I made room for a new one.

Re: 1987 Columbia Free Style Big Boss

I had this bike, I bought it from a friend in 1988 or so I believe. My Supergoose had gotten run over my my mom. Funny Ricksmorris80 you talk about the different frame, agreed but I loved it as a mid schooler/teenager for some reason I could ride wheelies forever on it due to the ergonomics of that frame. Sucks as I have been looking for one for quite awhile and would have snatched thise right up. Anyone ever see Columbias tandem BMX?
