1986 Haro Master

1986 Haro Master

This was a green and chrome '86 Master which I imported form the States last year (2006). I wanted to stick with the chrome rear stays and half-chrome forks but the chrome was in a really sorry state so I just had everything powdered in white.
Parts fitted include...
Group 1 stem,  Nippon brakes,  Sugino CT cranks,  Shimano DX Pedals,  Dia Compe seat clamp and a Viscount Dominator seat.
The pictures show Araya 36 spoke wheels but the bike now has Araya 48's fitted and the correct '86 folding pegs but I'm thinking of fitting grey Skyways, a grey Dominator seat and some grey A'mes to add a bit of a contrast to my build.

I finally got around to fitting those grey parts.  I also had a set of DX pedals powdered white for this build.  I'm not sure whether I prefer the Tuffs or spoked wheels?

Re: 1986 Haro Master

Thanks for the positive comments.

I have a few of these OS bikes now but I think this is my favourite Master.  A lot of work went into tracking down all of the parts but I still need to make a few changes before I can be completely happy with it.

I have another 3 projects nearing completion.  A pink '87 FST, a white Streetbeat and an '84 Haro Sport.  After that, I will retire from bike building and sit back and admire my work...

Oh wow.
This bike looks great with Grey Tuffs and a Grey Dominator seat. - but I bet the 48's look great on it too.

Re: 1986 Haro Master

Have a look at my Skyway Streetbeat, it's with my other bikes on the site.  I used all the gray bits on that build and they look very cool on that bike.  If I sell the Streetbeat f+f, I will probably put those gray components on the Haro...

Nice bike. Digging the colors. (I prefer the tuffs to the spokes.)
