1980 Cook Bros. Racing Austin Cruiser 26

Cook Brothers 26 inch Cruiser. , Austin Cruiser, aka Captain America! Welded with gussets below the seat mast for the Austin Cruiser shop back in the day.

This is the same frame and fork that is listed here by Brycycles.  I bought it off of him in January of 2007, and slowly amassed parts for the final build in August of 2007.
Aparently the cruiser heads here in Austin were jumping and successfully breaking the traditional Cook Brothers 26's, so CBRmade a handfull of gusseted frames for Lynn carter of the Austin Cruiser shop.I've been searching for a clean Cook 26 to build for the last 10 years or more.  Being from Austin, I was super excited when I saw this frame and fork come up for auction on Ebay.  Many thanks to Brycycles for getting the F&F in such good shape.  It rides better than I could have ever dreamed. Here's a list of parts.  Everything is new or NOS

Re: 1980 Cook Bros. Racing Austin Cruiser 26

NICE!  NICE!  NICE!

I love what you have done to this frame!  This bike has gone quite a long way to get to this state---the nicest it has ever seen!  Funny but I have the same hubs that were destined for this bike,  I am glad to see we have similar tastes.  Congradulations on having the nicest on this site!

Re: 1980 Cook Bros. Racing Austin Cruiser 26

My words are repetitive with the other posts here and basically meaningless.

But, bar none...this is the coolest bike I have ever seen.

WOW.

Re: 1980 Cook Bros. Racing Austin Cruiser 26

This bike definitely has my vote for Best In Show. Austin Cruiser was the best. I used to custom order my Vans through the shop. Lynn's a swell guy, too. Saw many a Cook cruiser around town them days - guys were jumping cars at Auditorium Shores with these things!

Re: 1980 Cook Bros. Racing Austin Cruiser 26

Rode with you on the Cruze this year....I was on the red Kastan. My pleasure to pedal with you, Wheelieman, and the boyz. Got so inspired, I scored the "King of Kings" CBR 26. WILL be in touch, and ride with you again, bro!!!

I remember this one on eBay not too long ago.  I wonder who has it now?  Cool bike!
