2003 Haro Mirra Pro
2003 Haro Mirra Pro
USA made Haro Mirra Pro frame, custom build. This is the in-between model bridging the burly 2001-02 Mirra Pros, and the lighter 2004 complete bike. Still an American bb, but the '03 has smaller tubing and drop-outs, a seat stay brake location (rather than chain stay) as well as a lower bb height than the S351s before it. Parts: Haro Mega Forks, OS Haro cranks (newer Premium-inspired design), Premium 39T sprocket, Profile SS hubs laced to 48h Araya RB-J1 Himiko rims, magnesium Haro Small Block pedals, titanium Haro pegs, Haro Slim Bars and Haro Wedge Stem, Gyro GTX, Thomson seat post and a Profile Slim clamp. I have an affinity for Mirra Pros; hope you like it, too. - Kevin

Re: 2003 Haro Mirra Pro
Didn't know he had an 03 model. Everywhere I read about his bikes they state 99-02 and 04-06. I have that same affinity for the Mirra bikes BUT cannot find the USA made ones in time before they get bought up. I do like the seat stay brakes on this one.
I'm currently in the process off putting the "finishing" touches on 99, 00, 01 taiwan made Pros and an 02 taiwan S351 that came with the brake mounts cut off. I welded some mounts and guides for seatstay use so we'll see how that goes.
Once again, your bikes are amazing. (and thanks for your help in the past with the DMC Pro)

Re: 2003 Haro Mirra Pro
That thing is a classic piece of the blammo/mirra evolution. What does that baby weigh in at?

If my calculations are correct, when this baby hits 88 miles an hour, you're gonna see some serious shit.

FU -
Not sure what it weighs - I'll try to get a read next time I have it in the apt. But it's def. lighter than the S351s (and I have them set up pretty similarly). It's an interesting in-between-feeling rig. Really low - lowest of them all (from 2000-2004).

Great bike! I love all Mirras, even the early years when they weighed as much as a boat anchor.

Re: 2003 Haro Mirra Pro
I actually prefer a heavier bike. More predictable. The 2001's were insane tanks. I think only the DK SOB was heavier.
Yet, my 2004 Mirra is really, really lite. Probably in the mid 5 pound range.
I love the low slung look of the 03's. F---- another Mirra I need. Damn this site!

Re: 2003 Haro Mirra Pro
Highly doubt USA made. The 03 S351 frame (seat stay brake mnt) was offered in 2 colors and 2 BB sizes (amer, euro)
I have the Tan euro 03 Mirra S351 pro frame. I would have to take another look at it but a can remember opening the box and removing the taiwan sticker.

Obviously Kmpap can't be wrong here....neither do my eyes.
Haro DID made the best haros of ALL time may i say, by the late 90's & early 00's
Haro offered as an option the USA-Made Mirra & Backtrail frames, which were only sold as single frames! Retail of these frames were pretty much half the price of a complete Mirra Pro
So, pretty rare bike here!

LMAO
Dude chill. Like I said, I own the same frame in the more rare euro BB. I could be wrong, but keep thinking the USA made ones stopped in 2001. I still have the box, I will take a look when I get back home.

Re: 2003 Haro Mirra Pro
Hey ya Duke - good to hear from you, buddy. Hope all is well in your sunny part of the world (it's freezing here in NYC)!
Actually, the '03 did come in an overseas made frame (as well as a rather expensive and well-spec'd complete) in both tan (or "Putty" as they called it) and Lite Gray. But there was also a select run of USA-made '03 frames, only. This is one of those, and I just barely laid my hands on one. The '03 models kind of came a went, really. Dave rode one at the '03 L.A. X-Games if memory serves, but that's about all the exposure this particular model seemed to get that year (that I saw).
In my opinion, the '03s were the last of the Great Haros - beginning in '04 they no longer manufactured USA-made frames at all (at least to my knowledge) and the spec on the completes sort of dropped a notch, quality-wise. The '04s were fun completes, and I even own and rip around on a modified SG Black version (pic) but the game had changed at Haro for whatever reason, and the bikes were never quite the same....

Re: 2003 Haro Mirra Pro
But are all seat stay brake mount 03 s351's USA made?
I picked mine up in late 03 off danscomp. $150 closeout. I added it to my profile, don't think it has been approved yet.
Curious to see what you think.

Hey Kevin! All is well, hope the same for you.
I had sent you a pm in the past.
Unfortunately, yesterday night was snowing here
Weather has gone mad for the last years...2 days from now,and probably i'll be able to get out wearing just a t-shirt (!).
I agree with Kmpap, there were always running a sale of Taiwanese made frames along with the USA-Made ones (1999-2003). I still remember the local bike shop having for sale a Taiwan made 2002 Backtrail Pro frame in the parts area which didn't come off a complete bike.
And these 2003 Mirras were sold in both available colors for the overseas version.
2003 was the last year for the low run USA-made ones, according to what the local importer had told me a few years back as i was interested getting my hands on a USA Mirra frame.
They also stopped manufacturing Haro "Made In U.S.A." parts (sprockets & stems) on the 2004 onwards completes. Premium Products was their new company for such parts.
2004 frames had a nice integrated headset by the way. A mid BB would make them even nicer!
I heard that in 2006 they offered again some USA-Made Y2K6 Mirra frames (Terrible One Barcode lookalikes) , but never saw one.
Just for the facts, I have a 2002 Ride BMX catalog and the USA-Made S351 Mirra Pro frame retails $335 at DansComp.
For the Backtrail frame i paid nearly $500 back in 2000. Assuming that they charged me the dealer's costs, it should retail about $350-400.

I actually had an 05 mirra frame(terrible one look alikes)It had an integrated headset and some crazy ISIS bb..It was a team issue
frame I got from a buddy who was a tester for haro back then. That frame was sick and one of very few that I parted with it still intact.

Oh - those T-1 look-alikes are awesome bikes. I'm always keeping my eye out for a Carolina Blue.
I may have a white '05 frame set in storage if you're interested....

Dude, this is sick. I can't find another baby blue/Carolina blue mirra pro with the brakes on the seat stay like the 2004 BOB HARO AUTOGRAPH MASTER. All the others are on the chain stay. That's way RAD. LMK if you ever feel like selling. Cheers bro.

I am a drifter on a hungry, empty sea
There is no-one on Earth to rescue me
The winter storms, they freeze me, summer burnt alive, I can't remember when another soul passed by.Alone and crying and a thousand miles astray Alone upon the cruel sea, forsworn and cast away, I turned my face to God and His face was turned away Lost in the ozone, nothing left to say. 👀

Re: 2003 Haro Mirra Pro
Me and BEAST are trying to get this question of USA or Taiwan frames cleared up. According to John at Haro if it has a SN starting CIC it is Taiwan factory code.
USA made frames have SN stamped on dropout only, no other stamping. BB is not painted on sides as machining done post paint.
So, I guess that means there are some Taiwan frame only versions as mentioned above by kmpap and Duke then? Different than the complete version frame and similar to USA frame but Tai???
Killer build, btw!

Re: 2003 Haro Mirra Pro
Sorry to say guys, but I have done some looking into these frames. The 03 Mirra Pro frame only was offered in 2 flavors that differed from the complete bike frame:
1. USA made with SN starting H on dropout
2. Taiwan made with SN starting CIC on BB
I happen to have a 2003 Haro DEALER BOOK and here are a couple pics that clearly show the Tai model numbers, listed in price sheet, next to pic of the frame with details showing the Taiwan frame only option did indeed also come with the 990s on seatstays and metal headtube badge, etc. like the USA made frames are said to:
Details on frame option:
Pricing sheet, note the part numbers:
I have confirmed with John at Haro that the frames with the SN on BB starting CIC is Taiwan factory number. ALSO, I got confirmation from Kip at MasterBlasterPlanet that Subrosa Trillicus frame with SN starting CIC is stamped by the factory in Taiwan. I have a Trillicus and it is known these were made in Taiwan and my serial number starts CIC216... just like the Haro frames it starts out CIC put there by factory. Subrosa confirmed the factory puts that there with no influence from Subrosa.
My conclusion is that both Haro and Subrosa used the same Taiwan factory for these frames. The Mirra Pro frames with 990s on seattube that have BB SN starting with CIC are Taiwan frames.
Sorry guys, I know this probably bums some of you out but figured you would still want to know for sure like I did.

Very good Info on this.
So, there was actually 2x aftermarket frames for 2003 year?
And there were both USA and Taiwan made ones?

Yep. Interesting they had a few versions like that. The complete frame makes 3 different frame versions!
