Re: Let's see the REAL bikes... TORKERS!

IMHO there are "real" Torkers and then everything else after Steve Johnson sold the company.  I think most of you guys that know your shit know what I'm talking about.  Also IMHO, Torker's greatest relevance was not their race history.  It's the fact that Bob H. adapted the first freestyle frame from one.  Besides that I always thought the seat tube angle was too laid back for my tastes.  I love the "real" ones though.  Had a dear friend that rode factory for them in the 80's.  He had all the trick Haro, Max and Torker stuff before anybody in our hood.  That was cool.  Also, I think the black and yellow combo is my favorite and graphically, Torker was the coolest for many years.  No offense I hope but I absolutely can't stand looking at anything later than about 1984 because to me, those frames are overseas made rip offs of the true classic.  The other day I saw a "Torker" city bike at my LBS.  Barfed in my mouth a little.

Re: Let's see the REAL bikes... TORKERS!

totally agree with you benny, part of torker's appeal was the fact bob haro took it as a blueprint for the master,no dount.I like them, there was only one torker ever here,a 1982 280,I am still in the hunt,it belonged to one of my best friends, and he sold it in early 87,I ended up with the fork(which rocked!)and cant remember what I did with it..they will resurface sometime though...didn't jason jenson ride for them for a while?

Re: Let's see the REAL bikes... TORKERS!

My 81 Survivor CL score. I added new tires, grips, pads and plate. I've actually been riding it every day to work for the last few weeks. It was up for sale, but I'm starting to have second thoughts about selling.

Would it be wrong to add decals? Would it still be a "survivor"? Anyway, here's a couple quick pix
