1980 JMC Racing Short Standard

jmc project revised

I bought this frame and fork from Jody who is on vintage BMX. Jody is the guy with the JMC tattoo on his calf in the JMC section. The frame is signed by Harry Leary. My favorite factory rider along with Stu Thompson from back in the day. I started out with red and white components and later went all red/chrome with it. Red pat pending tuff neck, Darrell Young bars, NOS Red Shimano DX pedals, NOS red Araya's with Bullseye hubs, Nos Sugino CT crank arms, Chrome dia comp brakes. I finally found the laid back JMC seat post that I paid an arm and a leg for but the package is almost complete.

You chose the right combination this build looks stunning, and to get it signed by the legend even better

As much of a fan as I am of the whole candy apple red thing (it IS my favorite color...), that's just too much.  I'd put some black tires, and definitely stainless spokes.  Beautiful bike though.

Things I need: Peregrine pedals 9/16, black finned Mathauser pads with original hardware, early threaded S&M forks (chrome Cook Bros style), UGP Recession Panel.
