Re: Morales freestyle bikes Thread!!! Let's see em??

does anybody have pics of  Phil Nolan's orange morales. that was the bike that made me fall in love with the morales frame and kore parts.
i just picked up a frame and want to biuld a replica. my frame is wird thought. it is a secong gen frame with closed end tubes at the dropouts but it has a 1" headset with 14mm axle slots that are about 1 1/2" lond with a unusually long dropout.

Re: Morales freestyle bikes Thread!!! Let's see em??

ed, that morales is the poverty type sold at dan's in 98-99.sturdy as hell. and actually quite similar to the dolan model, I do have that mag, but havent scanned it, I can give you a quick part list though here goes:
morales frame(orange)
kore fork, one inch threaded, chrome
tnt stem, once inch quill, silver
black graveyard bars
redline 401 flights(ouch)
graveyard sprocket(about 36 t)
primo v monster tires
tech77/nippon/990
primo seat
straight post
super pros/nankai old 16 t driver hub)
morales clamp(the one you have there)
mks looking type of pedals,
primo pegs
that's about it,I guess.oh,I think it also has a primo pervert for the upper gyro cable. funny, I was actually thinking of redoing it,since I have basically most of it, but backed out,so try it, I would love to see it!

Re: Morales freestyle bikes Thread!!! Let's see em??

heres my two completes
My 96' flattie
here it is when I first built it.
http://bmxmuseum.com/image/bmx_bikes_016_copy1_lg.jpg
and here it is now that Ive been riding it, and found the Bombastic Kore zero forks
http://bmxmuseum.com/image/bmx_bikes_042_lg.jpg
http://bmxmuseum.com/image/bmx_bikes_044_lg.jpg
http://bmxmuseum.com/image/bmx_bikes_009_copy4_lg.jpg

The Flattie is my favorite bMX bike. Whenever I have oppurtunity to ride, its usually the first bike I go for. When compared to my flatland abilities, the new zero forks makes riding flatland much more fun. Ive been riding flatland at least a few nights out of the week for the past 6-9 months. Ive got a few tricks in my bag-o-tricks but Im still basic

here the BTS
http://bmxmuseum.com/image/bmx_bikes_021_copy2_lg.jpg
http://bmxmuseum.com/image/bmx_bikes_020_copy3_lg.jpg
http://bmxmuseum.com/image/bmx_bikes_014_copy2_lg.jpg

This bike has hurt me couple of times (sciatic), but I still love it.

Ive got a couple of other BTS' that Im building on as loaners for my friends to ride, their in my bikes section.

whatcha think about my Morales freestyles?
cool or what?

Re: Morales freestyle bikes Thread!!! Let's see em??

Hey FREEEK, the sprockets, they just fit, I didnt do anything special at all, I just put them on. These things are tanks of a bmx bike, so I dont think a few ounces will help any. I just didnt expect the BTS to hurt my back like that, now I guess ive gotten a little stronger in that area because it doesnt bother me anymore. The DTT that Im building, I want it to be as light as possible.

spoke wheels absorb shock from a hard landing better than mags. you would be supprized at how much waight can be droped when building a morales. you just need to pick the right parts. what size tooth are your sprockets? 44/16 or 45/16

Re: Morales freestyle bikes Thread!!! Let's see em??

yes, right that very pic! about the sprocket, dan, older morales worked with 44 t sprockets just fine, since yours are all the latter models, they do not.36 down is your way to go! wow, my mmind didnt play tricks on me, the bars were black! I was wrong abou the sprocket though

Re: Morales freestyle bikes Thread!!! Let's see em??

if your frame is the poverty type,it is best to run a 36 and down, unless you want to run an unaligned chain. I used to run mine with a 36 profile whippit and had no issues.
