1987 Haro Group 1 RS3
1987 Haro Group 1 RS3
First and only owner of this '87 Haro Group 1 RS3
I bought this brand new in '87-'88. I rode it for a year or so and then it sat in the garage. In the summer of '89, my family moved across the country and the bike got scratched up pretty badly in the moving van. Several years later, I disassembled it and started sanding down the finish but only got the job partially done. From that point on, the disassembled bike and parts remained in the attic for over a decade. I decided to custom restore it this year (2010) and what you see in the pictures is the final result. Overall, I'm very happy with the outcome. I had a local guy powder-coat the frame, fork, handlebars, stem, and seat post in wet black finish.
If you live in the Dallas area, I highly recommend him:

Wow cool Haro. The lester mags on that make it look tough.

Thanks!
The more I think I about it, I truly regret NOT taking a picture of this bike before it was restored. It was in very rough shape.

Re: 1987 Haro Group 1 RS3
You're right there - have never seen one with Lesters before this......and I like it!!
Check out my 1983 VDC-built Trident, 1983 Kuwi Laserlite, 2010 GT Ultrabox 2, 2011 Crupi race rig and prototype Quamen, plus the all things Crupi & old school scene in Japan threads. Always interested in buying used, mid-school race plates and pads - UGP, Knucklebone, Lizard Skins, Odyssey and Pryme to name but a few!!

I'm in. The Lesters are on point! I think that's the best Lester style. Clean Haro man.

Can't wait to see it! It sounds like yours is the same color that mine used to be originally. I would love to see some pics and I agree....red or black mags will set it off nicely!!
