1985 Sling Shot Pro
1985 Sling Shot Pro
ORIGINAL FACTORY FINISH, FACTORY FORK & MY ORIGINAL PROFILE BOX CRANKS FROM BITD. SOLD
MY 1985 ORIGINAL "SURVIVOR" WAS PRODUCED AS THE 72nd SLINGSHOT IN 1985 S/N 50072. IT FEATURES THE FACTORY FORK WHICH IS EVEN MORE RARE THAN THE BIKES. I used Nuke Proof hubs, since like SlingShot they were manufactured in Grand Rapids, MI, on ProClass Series II alloy rims and Tioga Comp III skinwall tires. CW Pro Bars were mounted to a polished DK Stem, finished off with Suntour Headset Lock and A'me Bubble Font Tri Grips. Brake is Dia-Compe Chrome MX-1000, with Black Dia-Compe Tech III Lever and brake pads. The Profile box cranks were purchased BITD for my daughter's Maximum Race Bike, and has a Pete's Precision Products 42T chainring and Hutch Pedals. Seat post unknown with Hutch sticker attached with a Chrome Hutch Donut and a Viscount Black & White Checkered Seat. The "Best Feature" of this build is the near flawless factory original finish. Second best is that it is black, my favorite color, I may have already mentioned that on my square frame SS. Thanks for viewing, hope you like what I did with this one.

Re: 1985 Sling Shot Pro
You have probably one of the best collections of bikes that I have ever seen. I wanted a slingshot so bad when I was younger, and you have them just dropping out all over the place. One word: Jealous!

Re: 1985 Sling Shot Pro
My son says it rides good, he has raced the 24". According to him it does seem little squirrelly side to side sometime.
Does seem to work in the gate, and perhaps because he isn't a kid anymore we should try a stronger spring.
That could help. Anyway it was a neat idea and definitely stands out from the herd.
