1986 Haro Master

sorry but was told and what was writen on ebay, was i thought i was getting a 85 Master, but been told it's an 86 due to the fork holes , so sorry for any misunderstand

I think it's my life, been away from ride'n for about 18 years, and Bang it hit me, my best days had been spent on a bike, it's what i'd call freedom on two wheels, yep that's right, i couldn't wait until the weekends after school and even work to go out on a bike like the ones i have been building to once again ride. i now feel 15 again and enjoy looking at works of art, so i must thank all the people that still have love when it come to rebuilding the old school bikes.

Re: 1986 Haro Master

why thanks, seen this bike on ebay and thought i was getting the whole bike, but then found out it was only the frame and forks, i still see that the person that sold the frame, has the pics still on BMXmusem, so now i wonder how many more bikes have been sold off and are still on the site???? once you sale a bike, they should take it of, don't you think this is the right thing to do, as now there is 3 Pink 85 Masters and in fact there is only the one.

my two bikes are mine and hope that everybody else could do the right thing and make sure that once this bikes are sold off, to then taken them off the site.
Happy bike building to all the riders from the 80's to know. keep it alive as it would have played a big part in to whom we are today.

Re: 1986 Haro Master

yea youll see that; bikes swapping hands a couple times. i think they should say SOLD if sold what i did to one of mine...BTW did u know those are 86 haro forks on her?  see how the fork stand holes are lower where as the 85 forks have the higher holes, some late 85's like 85/11 and 85/12's sometimes have higher fork holes but are classified as 86's,

As long as they mark them SOLD thats usually good enough. What we dont want is people who sell their bikes and take the pics off and the new buyer doesnt post them back up. Its a good reference tool to have the pics up.

Re: 1986 Haro Master

point taken, but then you have all them bikes on the museum, and they are not real, how then do you keep track of what's real and whats not, i can then go and change my bike and put it as something else, and that's what i have seen also, so it's up in the air i guess.
but thanks again and like to hear more about this, as i feel that at the end of the day, i jump on the BMXMuseum site and there are 50,000 bikes and then the real numbers are more like 10,000 because we now have the same bike 20 times, because it was sold and resold over and over again. that's the reason i have said something, because the bike i am trying to build is now on this site 3 times

take care from down under

Good point. I think the more bikes on here the better, even if they have been sold or even rebuilt in different configurations.

Re: 1986 Haro Master

I think if the bike has been sold it should still be allowed to show up as being the previous owners but the seller should mark it as being SOLD.

I reckon there should be a rule that if the new owner see's that the seller has not marked it as being SOLD you should be able to first remind the seller to mark it as being SOLD and if it's still not done you should be able to then tell a moderator and then they can ask the seller to mark it as SOLD & a second warning means being suspended until it's marked.

What do you think? I know I've got a few bikes that I bought here and they have not been marked SOLD and that makes it look like there are more of the same bike which as a matter of fact there isn't.

By the way your pink Master looks great:D

Re: 1986 Haro Master

Looks great regardless of it's origin.  Why not post like this, 1st post (Harry) '86 Haro Master: sold to Joe, 2nd post '86 Haro Master rebuilt: bought from Harry: Sold to Blow, 3rd post (Blow) '86 Haro Master: Bought from Joe.  That way you could track the bike's ownership but also look back and see how it's build state has evolved.  With posting the serial #, I would think that this would be easy to do.  It would also cut the confusion but give each owner their credit.  Just A thought.  I agree with the others that It would be nice to see all the versions from the different owners, but I also would like to know that it is the same F/F that I have been looking at.

Cool, a new bike.  Wait a minute.......where am I going to hide this one.  She's going to catch me...

Re: 1986 Haro Master

Sold? Unsold? What a great looking bike, have just received an 87 coral and red sport needing a proper powder coat and a decent set of stickers am tempted to have it turn out in this colour...
