Re: 1983 Diamond Back Silver Streak

Well, I changed it again, trying to get it back to the way it was as a kid. Changed the wheels and put a Takagi spyder with a Sugino chainring on it. Now all it needs to make it exactly like BITD is some Oakley B1B's and a Zeronine number plate. tongue

Re: 1983 Diamond Back Silver Streak

There was a kid not far down the block from me back in the day. I remember he cruised up on his Silver Streak one morning as we were waiting at the bus stop. We stood around and gawked at the bike and talked about how awesome it was. I still recall the bright chrome, shiny decals and the the very wet sounding purr of the freewheel. Needless to say, we were extremely envious. This bike takes me right back to that moment.

I get this question often so here it is to save everyone time. I do not have any Mongoose DMC decals left. I was lucky enough to find a small bunch of NOS decal sets in an old bike shop that no longer exists and I have since sold them all. Sorry. I wish you all the best of luck with your DMC builds.

Know exactly what you mean........used to see a dude ride one of these and had to have one...........sooo I worked and saved the summer of '83 and bought a F/F/bars off of a guy at the end of summer and started putting it together with other parts I had gathered. Glad I could help out with some good memories. cool
