I can't seem to find any info on the Hornet, just the Metro.

here is a little about the hornet that i could find on the museum.ignore it if you have read it already

Thanks man. I totally missed that. But, that still doesn't give me too much to go on.

Is that your Hornet in the pic? I know these things were made because I got this frame off a buddy of mine and he had two NOS frame in this blue.

the one in the picture isn't mine. it was in one of the links i posted so i just borrowed the picture to show you another hornet. there is really no information about them on the internet other than what i found here on the museum. you could try asking around at vintagebmx or os-bmx.com or radbmx.co.uk

i love your frame. the blue looks awesome cool

i just looked at a 1997 issue of bmx plus

in the complete bike section in the dans comp ad the hornet is listed as a complete bike for $199.99 and only coming in blue.

says.. cromo frame ,alloy pedals, alloy wheels, alloy brake 1 piece cranks and ahead stem

Wow, that's awesome info, thanks. Is there any way you could scan that in and post up a pic for me? I'd really appreciate it.

Those Hornets look identical to the Metro.  Maybe they differ in top tube length?   My '96 Metro is 21", found mine NOS, complete, unassembled a few months ago.  Also got a marketing sheet on the Metros.  The chrome one had canti's, sealed hubs, and alloy bars.

Re: lets see those mid school race bikes!

cool info but it's weird because the hornet came with a 1" threadless fork and headset. Maybe because it was a lower level bike? I don't know.

Hey 88 - I just noticed that the bottom of that flyer said Brodhead Road Bethlehem Pa. Where are you from? I live in Catasauqua and I drive by Brodhead road every day. I know there's a bike shop on broadhead road 191 isn't there...

Found the bike in Champaign, IL.   I think that Pennsylvania address is the distributer (Titan).   Bike shop was in the local yellow pages, but its really just an  old guy that used to sell bikes out of his garage.  The guy has another NOS complete Hyper Metro, assembled with minor scuffs, etc. from being in his shop for years.
