I have one of the old ET pleather stuffed animals.  It is on the small side probably 12-14"'s but you are more then welcome to borrow it for the display or use it as a copy for a larger one.  LMK.  Cool project J

I just ordered two E.T. posters from a guy on the Denver Craigslist (thanks Kelly for the link!) - I think it's against the rules to post up a Craigslist link that is not your own, but the guy has more of them for sale, just do a search on the Denver Craigslist (and he ships).

I am going to get one professionally frames with "Porkchop BMX" on the mat to use with my DragonCON display. Not sure what to do with the 2nd one -but hey, he'll send up to 10 for the same shipping charge so I couldn't pass up a good deal smile

Thanks for this reference...I just e-mailed the guy, would like to get one of those for myself.

im 100% sure i saw a post on here last week , i think in the trades section from a guy who builds movie props and replica movie props and he was wanting to trade for bmx xtuff .  i remember he had several examples of his work on the thread and it was pretty good. i bet he could make whatever you need for your display .

Wow...this sure sounds interesting.  Here's the link to his post   http://bmxmuseum.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=194490 ...porkchop, I be thinking that you might get a little excited by what this man can do.

Did you see this posting - selling the posters & includes a link to a ton of ET stuff, including pics of the day the bikes were delivered to the movie crew.

Thanks Bill! That's the same guy as from the Craigslist ad I mentioned above, but I didn't realize about his website - very cool stuff.

I've asked my wife if she could make a head - and she thinks so - so I don't think I need the actual doll - but could you post up several pics of the head for my wife to work from? smile

Sure can.  I need to locate it at my P's house.  I will try to get them up ASAP.

Re: The AFFORDABLE Kuwahara E.T. Project - Porkchop BMX

I did get the BMX Plus! article from Oct 82 scanned and into my photobucket.  I will show you the cover of the mag here, but if you want to get the inside scoop on Haro's involvement in the movie, go to the photobucket and look at the scans.

You can notice the kandy if you`re right on it but otherwise I`m going to match it for single stage. Whats involved? Sealer, grey base, enough kandy to get the color right, then clear. After the clear is dry enough I`ll scuff it so the white base has something to bite then reclear it. The clear I`m using has a 24hr window which means I can put clear over it within 24hrs. The clear was on at 4pm. I`ll still scuff it and finish it by lunchtime tomorrow.

Gar - are you going to be shooting to get yours 100% original? If so, it will make a nice contrast to the direction I'm going smile

lol. My boss was watching me spray it. He was laughing then said "how old are you?" I think I could have used one less coat of kandy because it seems a shade dark BUT not dark enough to worry. The fade came out great.
