Here's a thought, since a few of these bikes have been located in NorCal I would suspect that they are built for the "Repack Downhill Race" in Fairfax, CA.  Those early guys like Charlie Kelly, Joe Breeze and Gary Fisher had similar bikes that they hand built.  Reach out to the guys at the Marin Museum of Bicycling in Fairfax to see if they recognize the bike(s), they have a FB page.  .02

Nobody knows... this bike was at that Museum... I bought it from a guy who lived in an apartment attached to it in Fairfax Ca, where this bike was purchased at a garage sale in Fairfax over 30 years ago.. it now lives with me in Novato Ca.

Well $hit,  that's a big dead end then.  The search continues.......

A bicycle is like a toothbrush; you should have one and use it often.

Im guessing all terrain bike 26.  For ATB26.  If someone also threw a schwinn sticker on one in the past it could add to the confusion.  Ive never seen a schwinn that wasnt plastered with branding so I had doubts on that.

Than you for confirming the source on these.  I was thinking small shop or home garage build a run of frames.  During mtn bk infancy.

If you consider guys are building 200mph drag cars in their home garage, its totally feasible a person can do some bikes frames.  Bender - fixture - welder - time - done.  If people have never been around metal fabrication the process to produce a bike frame may seem magical, its not.
