So I finally got some Citric Acid Powder off of eBay and soaked the frame.  Rust free, but nowhere near perfect.

Re: Thinking about restoration, but what kind of bike is this?

So after 2 years I've finally got myself in a situation where I can throw some $ at this bike.  I want to look into re-chroming everything.  I looked for a board where I could get some info on here, but couldn't find anything.

Who do you all recommend I contact about chroming?  Thanks in advance.  I'm in Clearwater, FL.

Other questions I have:
Anyone know where to find an original seat post?
What do I do about crank bearings?  I don't have any tools or know-how to reinstall it.

I just picked up mags, grips and a seat clamp.  Tires, tubes, cables, brake pads & to go to make this a rider!

Well - here she is.  The back was not in good enough condition to have it re-plated...so I'm going to turn it into a green 85 with a Group1 stem (instead of a redline forklifter) and anno blue Nippon's instead of 880's.  I have a Group1 crank for it, but since I'll most likely be riding this one I'm going to throw a redline flight in it with a spider and chainring that look like an 85'.

White seat and white grips are on the way.  I'll probably run black gumwall tires.

I also have a Redline forklifter, but those things look so dinky compared to a Group1 stem (plus the Group1 stem is green!)

Those are 85 forks Chip sold me so it would be era correct as far as color scheme goes. He did a great job!

Nice to see you stuck with it.  Came out really sweet!  Enjoy it or the cash it brings.  big_smile
