Re: My boss and his #1 Redline

That is a great bit of BMX history.

"That LiL Holeshot I built a couple years ago that took Best Mini was a nice bike, but I'll bet most people didn't even see the greatest thing about it. The frame and fork was in awesome condition, and when I started to build it I found residue of car wax in the welds. That means at one time, long ago some little kid enjoyed that bike so much that he sat and stared at it while he waxed it to perfection. That's the kinda stuff I appreciate, and can relate to very well."  John De Bruin-6/21/09

Re: My boss and his #1 Redline

I tried to find one with him racing that plate and bike but with no luck.

I think this is the plate.

Re: My boss and his #1 Redline

Two words for that Red Line. Train Wreck. A good employee would restore it for him big_smile. As far as the helmet goes it might still fit. If you removed the lining lol. He looks like the kinda Boss who can really motivate his workers!

Ask him if he remembers punching, Brent Patterson...

I need his Signature on a poster. Do you think it's something he would do?

Well done tglee!!!

Thanks.  It was from August 1977.  A story about the Pros starting their own union type organization.

This is Coys' brother Dale (2s) on a bike that looks a lot like the one in the first post of the thread.

Re: My boss and his #1 Redline

Awesome to see a thread like this.  These guys were the early pioneers in the sport.  They helped shape a sport that still stands today.  They may not have their previous form but they need to be respected for their fierce competitiveness and contribution.  And everyone knows, once a bmx'er always a bmx'er.  It's in our blood.  This dude is badass!
