87 Dyno Pro Compe Decals - UPDATE!!!

Hey fellow oldschoolers, I have some news! I am nearing completion of a set of 1987 Pro Compe decals! Two things - does anybody out there have an 87 TEAM Model sticker they can scan (at 300 dpi) that they can send me to repop so I can include it with the set? I don't have the team sticker, but I have created these from an original unused set, and it just so happens, I'm a graphic designer, so these are gonna be TOP NOTCH. All I need to do is find a printer... The second thing, I would appreciate some feedback. Go to wwwmichaelstencel.com/PCDecalsFPO.jpg and you can see what I've done so far and you guys can give me your feedback. Keep me posted. - Michael (Email: stencel99@yahoo.com)

Re: 87 Dyno Pro Compe Decals - UPDATE!!!

In my 3+ years of collecting I have not found the team model sticker.  I've only seen it on one bike.  http://www.bmxmuseum.com/bikes/dyno/4799
Contact him and see if its possible to scan.  There is someone on another site I could try and contact to print the decals.

Re: 87 Dyno Pro Compe Decals - UPDATE!!!

I'm tellin you guys, I'm a freak for perfection, and these are gonna be 99.9% DEAD ON FREAKIN AWESOME. Now I gotta build me a  Pro Compe like my old ride! I've matched the exact colors and everything. Would anyone be bummed if I can't do the TEAM model sticker? The set I created these from I got directly from DYNO when I was co-sponsored in 1987... The only snag I can forsee is if a printer has a problem with copyright, but other guys are repopping stix, so I know it's do-able... FYI - a really good digital pic of the TEAM Model sticker would work as well...

Cool. Thanks for the help. I also just found a PDF of the 87 Dyno Catalog. Between the two, I'll see what I can do. Just might work...

Re: 87 Dyno Pro Compe Decals - UPDATE!!!

Michael, You wouldn't happen to wanna do some 87 D-Tour stickers would ya!? wink

See I have the 86 D-Tour stickers on my bike right now because my ignorant self thought
I could find some more D-Tour stickers when I pulled them off for new powder but never did.
My 86 stickers...

http://bmxmuseum.com/image/dyno_detour_ebay_009_lg.jpg

I would pay good $$$ for some D-Tour stickers like these...

http://bmxmuseum.com/image/1987_dyno_dtour1_lg.jpg

Maybe we can find a good scan of some D-Tour stickers, there not too much different
than the Pro Compe stickers. Since your a graphic artist you may be able to reproduce
some D-Tour stickers as well.

You think it would be really awfull to put these new Pro Compe decals on my D-Tour ?

I would pay good $$$ for some...hmmmmmmm

Yeah, you just never know what you have now days could be worth so much or so rare. Kinda makes you wish you could go back in time and relive and enjoy things that are no longer common.

Re: 87 Dyno Pro Compe Decals - UPDATE!!!

Looks great!  Maybe a little more black below MODEL????....that's being picky...How about a handlebar decal?  That would make a complete set.

Re: 87 Dyno Pro Compe Decals - UPDATE!!!

Yeah, a handlebar sticker! I guess the original sticker sheet didnt have a handlebar sticker on it !? I was going by the 1987 Dyno ads they have in Bike Ads section. They have a sticker on the handlebar.

What stickers are on the two side tubes coming off the top tube going towards the rear dropouts.......

Re: 87 Dyno Pro Compe Decals - UPDATE!!!

Well I'm now guessing the Pro Comp didn't have those lil stickers on those two tubes

as on 8788dyno's Pro Compe....

Re: 87 Dyno Pro Compe Decals - UPDATE!!!

I have never had or seen a Pro Compe with those little stickers on the sides.  I think one of the catalogs shows them. I will see if I can find that pic.

EDIT:
I should have said in person I have never seen one.  Here is the link to the 87 catalog, they show them.  Allot of times the bikes in the catalogs didn't always make it to production the same way.

Re: 87 Dyno Pro Compe Decals - UPDATE!!!

Yeah, I did notice that too, the stix on the platform area. My original sealed set includes the down tube sticker, the seat tube sticker, the 2 fork stickers, and the head tube sticker. I don't think it'd be any more $$$ to add an extra fork sticker, and that can double as a seat post (drain pipe, of course!) sticker. I think I can throw in a handlebar sticker too, b/c it seems real close to the seat tube sticker. I talked to one printer today, and they're getting me a price. I see AJK sells sets for $40-$50. What are the thoughts on that pricing? I will guarantee, these are gonna be killer quality. I wouldn't put my effort into anything less. I think it's gonna cost me a few hundred to print these. That being said, I will be selling them, so hopefully I can recoup and then some. Hopefully enough to buy me a Pro Compe F&F! The only snag I see right now is any copyright issues, so if anybody has any info on that, it'd be great... Thankx for all the input.
