1981 Laguna Cruiser 26

Purebred Fireroad Race Steed....

Picked this up off a guy riding down the street. Junked everything but the frame! Wife wanted a 26 like my other one and this is what we came up with... Schwinn Chromoly fork, NOS Araya 7x hoops, NOS Sunshine BMX hubs, Sugino GT cranks and chainwheel. Weinmann/Dia Compe brakes w/ Terrycable. 70's Motocross bars, SR stem, Tange 125L Headset. Brooks B72 Saddle, Suntour Seatclamp.

Re: 1981 Laguna Cruiser 26

Coolest Laguna I've ever seen. Those bars are amazing! I would so love to bomb down a fireroad on that.

Re: 1981 Laguna Cruiser 26

Wow! Thanks for the responses guys! big_smile

I think this one turned out pretty cool too. I dig the moto look and feel of it. I scored some IRC tires a little while ago from Williwoods, that I should have put on it...

I'm pretty sure my wife knows it's not really her's....but I'll let her ride it once in a while...lol
And, how cool is it gonna be when both of the 26's are cruising around together?!

Hey Coreyecky, I'd say most of the newer "Bombers" got their inspiration from some of the old "Bombers" from BITD. Although I don't want to mess with ya if you own one, because, "The owner of a Bomber is not to be tangled with!"  wink

Thanks again guys!

Greg

Nice and clean look on this one.

Feeling Bossy. Now how about a beat national pro or whitebear cruiser or panda 26 pro-am raider for a new restore project.

Re: 1981 Laguna Cruiser 26

Hey, great idea getting the wife on board as an excuse to build another one!  Maybe I'll try that--been looking for another project and these cruisers have so many possibilities.  Great job with both you S&S's!

Wow, what noob I am, lol!  I thought the Lagunas were made by S&S.  I got some learning to do.  The frames look identical to me.

Re: 1981 Laguna Cruiser 26

Haha...it's a close match for sure! Laguna's have a rectangular steel piece behind the bottom bracket, kind of like the Mongooses. Small other differences.

They were both made at the S&S factory though! I've heard when S&S started making their own frames, Laguna pulled out. Not positive though....neutral
