Anybody have any good suggestions on how to get those old mag wheels white again?

Uhm..., a solution of bleach and water. Wear gloves and use a non-metal scrub pad. That would be my guess.

The bleach method is best. 2 gallons per wheel. then put a little water , just enough so it covers the wheels in the pot. Through in some carrots, celery and potatoes.... oh never mind. Just use the search.

no such luck with the search.

The bleach won't cause drying out, cracking, or any other side effects?

You'd be surprised what the car wash will clean up as well. I have cleaned up several pairs of tires like this. Just be sure not to get to close or the  spray could cut into the mag wheel.

I'll have to give the Oxy-Clean method a shot too.

I get this question often so here it is to save everyone time. I do not have any Mongoose DMC decals left. I was lucky enough to find a small bunch of NOS decal sets in an old bike shop that no longer exists and I have since sold them all. Sorry. I wish you all the best of luck with your DMC builds.

this is what you do, get a bowl big enough to submerge the wheels, fill with bleach, take your axle & bearings out & grease any metal parts to make them waterproof, submerge the wheels for 4-5 days, take out & scrub dowm with soapy water..ping...
as new

Yep like they said. If you have really bad spots or brake marks, hell even scratches you can wet sand them with fine paper. Just pull them from the bleach sand and let them soak some more. After you get them from the bleach solution, spray them off real good. I usually put them in the dishwasher at this point also to make sure and get all the residue off then spray the piss out of them with wd40 and let them dry for a few days. They will look great.

What does the WD40 do?  Do you spray it on and then rub it in or anything?

You just spray it on thick and let it dry. it penetrates and seals the plastic.
