Re: 1979 Roger DeCoster

Thanks. I did some bunny-hops in the parking lot until the bars moved. Those old goose necks just don't hold!

Re: 1979 Roger DeCoster

LOL. Yeah, I've got to put my old school bikes away and find a new school bike with tougher parts!

Re: 1979 Roger DeCoster

Love the decoster. I'm searching the globe for as we speak. I'm also doing my first build a 1979 Sting I have all the correct parts I'm just trying to clean the rims up real good without taking them apart. And I'm proud to say I have no idea how to do it!!!

It don't mean a thing if you aint got no Sting !!

Re: 1979 Roger DeCoster

Thanks for the comments.

hb4dj - do you have any pictures of your bike? It would be cool to see it go together

afxcrazy - good luck with the Sting. Let me know if you need help with the wheels. I've rebuilt the guts of a few wheels.

Re: 1979 Roger DeCoster

Happy New Years everyone!!!

I took this one for a ride yesterday... It's one of the smoothest rides I own. Coaster brakes make for a simple, smooth ride!

Peace!

Re: 1979 Roger DeCoster

This is the bike that inspired me to build mine!  I couldn't find the Museum entry for it for the longest time, then I found that all of the BMX Products bikes are in with the Mongoose's.  cool

Grammar is important. Capital letters are the difference between helping your Uncle Jack off a horse, and helping your uncle jack off a horse.

Re: 1979 Roger DeCoster

Hey Badmofo! Glad you found it again. I rode this the other day and I love it. This is probably the bike I would have owned as a kid. It's simple and wouldn't have cost too much back in the day. It's a great ride!!! Thanks!
