S&M Neal Wood Questions

Ok, so I'm really amped about picking up a Neal Wood frame. The seller said he's going to ship it today. Are these frames' geometry the same as the RV? I saw a post that the decals are hard to find. I checked the Museum and only saw 2 '03s. Were they only made that year? I'm looking forward to build this up as my racer. I'll post pics as soon as it gets here. Just thought I'd share....

Re: S&M Neal Wood Questions

Geometry for Neal Wood race frame-
weight- 5lb
euro b/b
1 1/8" campy spec integrated headset
headtube angle- 74.5 degrees
tt length- 21 1/4"
seat tube angle- 71 degrees
seat post size- 25.4mm
bb height- 11.8"
tubing thickness- straight gauge .35"
machined headtube & bb
gusset under downtube
2 cable guides on tt
v brake mounts

I'm sure that the Neal Wood was available in 2002 as well as '03.
Excellent frames. Excellent geometry & comfortable to ride.
I've owned 2 but sold both unfortunately.
If i come across a set of decals or scans i'll let you know directly.

Thanks man!!! I actually spoke with Sean M. at S&M and he said none were available sad. So, are these frames "sought after" so to speak since they made it for like a year or so??

Can't wait to see it. As for the NP, it's my budget build for now and I'm hoping to get a set of 401s, correct bars, and grips later on.

I'm anxiously waiting today for UPS for the S&M. Everytime I hear a truck, I go running to the window....big_smilebig_smilebig_smile.

Re: S&M Neal Wood Questions

Just delivered!!!! The previous owner spray bombed it brown hmm. I plan to strip it and probably ride it in the raw finish or baby blue. Does anyone know how to tell by the serial number on when it was made? It reads K4XL12. I'm guessing '03 by the others in the Museum. Here are some pics:

Thanks...that's my plan until I get some funds for some powder coating unless I like the raw finish. We'll see...

Re: S&M Neal Wood Questions

The neal wood is almost the same as an RV, it just has a longer back end and only came in 21 1/4
I have not seen many up for sale, so I reckon they were not very largely produced.

Thanks...I measured the TT and it is 21 1/4". Now, how do I measure the rear traingle? Middle of the BB to the middle of the rear dropout? Thanks in advance....
