Re: Other Hobbies, interests, collections?

WOW.......these collections are just awesome...

I used to collect comics, star wars figures, coins, knives, movie posters, Military Plastic model kits,  MOTU figures, Die cast muscle cars, Marvel & Dark horse cards,  but gave up a few years ago!!!

The addiction nearly ruined me so now i only concentrate on BMX....lol

All my stuff is mint minus my die cast cars which have been displayed...doh!!!

I still have all my gems and i'll be selling it all very soon to fund my builds....pls let me know if anyone wants anything before i put them on ebay?

I'm willing to trade my collectables for bmx parts or sell them for cash so pls drop me an email!!!

Re: Other Hobbies, interests, collections?

I used to do the NASCAR diecasts collecting. You know, the 1:18`s and 1:64`s. Got the "Days of Thunder" 1:64`s somewhere. Also have a few Lamborghini diecasts (surprised?!). Mostly Countach, 1 Diablo and 1 Miura. And I have a Playboy Parody (from when I collected those too), can`t remember the year but it`s an `80`s mag, with Bo Derek on the cover and Princes Diana as the centerfold. Had thunk about selling it but I gotta find it first. Gotta a few comics too.

Re: Other Hobbies, interests, collections?

Awesome collections guys! I've collected comics for the past 20+ years and action figures for the past 15+ years. I also collect movie posters and vinyl records.

I've posted these pics before of my "toy room". It's going through some remodeling right now. I needed to make more room for bikes. smile

No 12 backs in my collection. Most are from Jedi, and some Power of the Force & tri-logos. I do have a rare Boba Fett on the "Droids" card hangin' there.

love the Gibsons BUT that Marshall half stack kicks AZZ right there brother. Best your money can buy. We use to use peavey monitors cuz they got kicked around a lot but all my sound came via my Marshall stack. I used a Sun amp with it. Just about went broke with the stack and couldn't afford the amp. The Sun was free, because of my charming personally!!! NOT

I had a coupla Jackson Bass' 1 was hand made and I got one from Lita Ford.

Re: Other Hobbies, interests, collections?

I'm suprised MORE people aren't collecting toys as well as BMX bikes ( other than the $$$ involved). Both are ways to recapture our youth. Growing up for me in the 70's and 80's it was ALL about Star Wars, Hot Wheels, KISS, riding my BMX bike and whatever else pop culture was throwing at us during those years.

I know ALOT of guys equate collecting BMX bikes to collecting vintage automobiles. Not me. Bikes were just as much of my "play time" as toys. And as I got older, they gave me the freedom to "play" outside my block and explore. But it was still "play time." More often than not, I had a carrying case of Star Wars figures or the latest Kiss album under my arm as I rode my Mongoose to my friend's house.

It wasn't until high school that the "toys" were left at home in exchange for the latest video game or RATT album. But in between we were riding to the local corner store to catch up on the latest adventures of Spider-man, X-men, and Sgt. Rock.

BMX bikes and toys represent a simpler time in my life. Before High School "cliques", before girls and their silly games ( gotta love 'em, tho), before cars, before the REAL responsibility of life.
