Not only do you know how to put together a beautiful, working piece of mechanical art, but you know how to honor her with great photography.

Re: 1978 Cook Bros. Racing

I honestly think this is one of the 5 nicest bikes in the museum...

I had a white Cooks Bros in '78. Had Astabula forks on it and heavy duty spoked wheels. Must've weighed about 40 lbs.. Every time I see one with paint (of any color) I always wonder if that's it. It was the only new bike that I ever had as a kid and it was taken from me the day after I got it. Not implying in ANY way that this is my bike, lol..

Seriously SICK bike my friend.. Much congrats.

Re: 1978 Cook Bros. Racing

I'm not a collector, nor do I have a desire to start collecting and worrying about era-correct parts, counterfeits, re-releases, etc. This bike, however, sure helps me understand why others do get caught-up in the collecting aspect of the sport. Beautiful piece of art you've created. Be proud, it's amazing.

Stunning!!!!

Are those Snakebelly tires or are they something else?  Since they don't make Snakebelly anymore and I'm hoping maybe yours isn't snakebelly and I can still get them because I'd love a set for my bike.

Thanks Zeekle, those are genuine skinwall Cycle Pro Snakebellys, I bought them about 3 years ago on ebay,(thank god!),,havent seen many since. However, from time to time the gumwall ones do appear and much cheaper if those would be cool with you.

Another look after first seeing the finished product debut at Rockford ! Ten years ago man. Wow, I think if I recall, that front tire was mine !! Still looks as good as the first time. Needed some inspiration for a potential RWB build I have ! (79 Powerlite). Hope all is well Claude !
