1979 Mongoose Motomag

Original black Motomag Mongoose

This goose was offered to me by another club member for the purpose of giving it a good and long lasting home. This bike had original Chrome femco rims, but always wanted a Black goose black as possible and had the black redstone mags available(as seen in 1st 2 pics). Later purchased the previously painted black motomags from a fellow member an is setup as you see it in the last 2 pics.
Frame: '79 Motomag Mongoose
Forks: Tange, stamped '79
Cranks: Ashtubala, stamped '79
Sprocket: mongoose "Sugino" 44t
Pedals: Rat trap style
Seat Clamp: Mongoose stamped
Seat post: Original
Seat: Troxel
Bars: unknown alum.
Goose neck: unmarked Tuffneck style stem
Grips: Mongoose
Wheels: Black Motomags II (Redstones no longer mounted), but I still have the original Femcos
Tires: Cheng shin 20x2.125
Headset: Mongoose stamped
Bottom Bracket Hardware: Mongoose stamped
Pad set: Black handlebar snap pad & black Double clamp goose neck snap pad
Kickstand: Rear axle mounted, Wald KS in black(not pictured)

Don't cha wish your goose was hot like mine, don't cha!  smile

Man oh man I want one of them... Will work for bikes... On the side of the road with sign...

I never log off and I had to disable my screen saver because it was causing problems , making me have to restart my computer every time it kicked on. Please keep that in mind if you message me and I don't reply back right away. Thanks.

Re: 1979 Mongoose Motomag

It does take time.......... start with a frame and then build it up later when possible.
Have you checked out my flock of geese(my bikes posted in the museum)?

Re: 1979 Mongoose Motomag

Nothing says Old School like a wicked Black Mongoose! Nice build... Again, I feel sorry for this bike being stuck in the laundry room. Time to get some action shots on this baby! cool

A "Squonk" is like a Mongoose only much harder to find...

Funny!
Thanks again, Mongoosedrummer.
I'm recovering from a elbow and shoulder surgery, but I do ride them.
Just haven't taken them out for a wheelie or a jump.
I'll get there one of these days.

Re: 1979 Mongoose Motomag

Hey "Mattygaff", too bad they didnt have a way to select all bikes and save as a fave(or preselect ones you dont). It would of been easier for both of us.
But, "Thanks" again for liking my gooses and supporting my volunteer bike program.

Take it easy on the moosegoose of ur's and stay cool!
