1978 Hank & Frank Force 2

All chromoly frame with Tuff 2#.Phill  front sprocket & tuffneck goose neck.I purchased this BMX between 25 to 30 years ago from a friend that raced and this was his practice bike. I was told that it was a force 2# that Hank & Frank co. made for there racing team.

Killer bike right there! Serious norcal roots run deep with that bike. My uncle has an original 77 The Force frame (bmx museum member romano916). He raced in the 70's for sunshine bmx and Bike in the box. Hank&frank and silver shield raced those frames. Later H&F bought out silver shield, currently there Oakland store I think.

Re: 1978 Hank & Frank Force 2

Thanks for that info.I haven't logged in for a long time. When my friend wasn't racing we would ride into Canyon in Moraga up to Sky Line to Bear Creek RD. to Fish Ranch RD. Over the tunnel on to the Freeway 24 take the Orinda exit and ride back to Moraga all on our 20"ers.This was no easy task. But this is what he did to keep in shape and i would just tag along for the ride maybe your uncle nose him his inls. are JT. He worked for B & H Tree Service in Moraga.

Re: 1978 Hank & Frank Force 2

my days in WC were numbered, but i would come back to bike in a box once and a while and oogle over all the raddness. I think I bought a skatedeck there once too after i moved away to the magical east bay town of oakley.

man, this is one sweet old school ride!  and the comments on this page bring me back.  i remember the wildcat canyon run from skyline blvd down to moraga...that, and the shepard canyon run down to montclair, were THE downhill runs when i was a kid!  thanks for the memories!  peace

Re: 1978 Hank & Frank Force 2

I had a buddy that rode a Force 2 B.I.T.D. I been trying to figure out who made it. Thanks for the info. I remember his was one of the first long frames for taller riders. I also am a Bay area native although I rode a Cook Bros....
