1989 Auburn CR-20R

Great racing bike.

I bought this in pretty rusty condition. So, I cleaned up the rust on the chrome parts (handlebars, backend frame, chainwheel, chain and rims). Put in new A'ME grips, Cheng Shin comp III tires, Dia Compe Bulldog rear brakes, new stainless steel spokes and blue nipples. It has a DK stem, original Auburn brake lever and seat clamp. Unpainted Redline forks and Hoffman seatpost. GT hubs, chainwheel and beartrap pedals.
I love my Auburn and so lucky to have found it online. I quickly jumped at the chance to get it. I had to travel about 3 hrs one way to get it in pretty hot condition without food and water, lol. I started in the morning around 7am at the bus stop and came home around 5 pm. No car, I traveled by bus, orange line subway, red line subway, to the blue line subway and reverse all the way back home! I have to say the bike was in pretty bad condition and I did my best to bring it back to life. It's not a show piece but an everyday rider that I like!

Never seen the Auburn style seat post clamp. Decal or paint?

It's a decal. That's how I got it. Thanks for commenting on my bike. My 1st comment cool

I think you have a GT seat clamp with a Auburn sticker  and a Odyssey Pitbull Lever.

A good bike to start off with.  I had one back in the day.  I could not break it..  Good to hear you ride it.
