Thanks man! I really appreciate the kind words, but certainly no need for jealousy with your builds! You've got a great eye too and I love your bikes. Can't wait to see the finished Master!

Re: 1987 Redline RL-20II

Hey marcus if you gonna change the stickers, save them...
I would like to scan them in high res...

question about your mags?
when you ride the redline with the pergrines, does it have a wobble to it?
im asking since my gt with skyway tuffs has this wobble when i ride it.
the wheels are not bent or warped, its the tires.

I dont know why it does this, the mongoose has the same effect.
the skyway tuffs wobble, but the wheels are true.

Lou - first, I'm still contemplating that other thing we discussed yesterday. Secondly, you're question has made me realize I haven't even taken this white one for a spin yet!!! As of this moment, it's a carpet queen. lol I didn't even realize it until you asked, but I honestly guess that's because I have the chrome rider which rides so nicely!

I think the wobble is due to the fact that tires don't seal and set in the mags like they do with rims. If you're not careful when inflating, you'll see the tire coming off the mag. They just don't have that lip that grabs the tire bead, so the tire never gets to sit nice and flush all across! What I did with this white RL is to inflate like half a pump and go around the wheel checking for tire placement and continued that way until I was sure it had enough air to stay put. The fact that the black coloring isn't even all the way around the tire doesn't help when you spin the wheel, because it "looks" like it's uneven or wobbling, even if it isn't actually wobbling (not your issue, I realize).

As for the stickers, you know you'll need a long flatbet scanner right? I'll measure them tonight when I get home, but they're pretty long. You can scan the darker set before I apply them which will be easier since the others may get ruined when removing.

Lol! Funny you Say that, cuz I came real close to taking it to the Phily ride this past weekend! It's just that in having the chrome rider, there really is no difference between the two in rideability. Maybe next time. big_smile

Funny you should say that Lou; it had a thick layer of dust on from not being moved since summer slam! Of course I had to wipe it down before taking photos. lol
