Finally got a Standard. Found this today on Facebook, mislabeled as a GT. Really psyched. Looks to me like a STA 96 or 97 frame and fork. The bars have a Standard sticker but I was told by a member they are not Standard. The seat and wheels will be changed. Looking for advice on what cranks to use. Not in a rush to build this one. But will hopefully clean it up next weekend.

Nice find, got to love the old 'its old so it must be a GT advert'.
I would run Primo Powerbites myself but im a sucker for those cranks.

Snagged this Lengthy from marketplace. First one I’ve had that wasn't a 1” frame and didn’t have a platform. Looks more like a race bike than the lengthys I had bitd. When this frame came out were they slotted as street, race, or a flat bike?

That is correct.

I think that’s the best choice. I want to build this right which means selling a few lower end bikes to pay for the parts for this one. if I have this bike I don’t need some of my other bikes.

Anyone interested in a 18” frame and fork 250L to set up for your kiddo? May post it FS in a day or too so figured I’d mention it here to my standard peeps first.

Check out my 1983 VDC-built Trident, 1983 Kuwi Laserlite, 2010 GT Ultrabox 2, 2011 Crupi race rig and prototype Quamen, plus the all things Crupi & old school scene in Japan threads. Always interested in buying used, mid-school race plates.

It is exactly that bike. And looking at that picture, I see I’m gonna have to put that Sharp chainwheel back on it.

I tried to submit this one but I cannot figure out what model it is, Cracks? Bmxmuseum Submit lists on standard do not have “cracks” and what year is it?
Looks to me like a strange made in China knock off (just my hunch). Crazy what they’ll copy. 1 piece cranks and American BB? Weird low standover height.

Had to sell a custom Standard that was just too long for me. Really loved the tan color tho so wasn't happy about it.
Even put OS20s on to try and make it work but had to let it go.
Then a couple weeks later I got another tan one that fits me off ebay and everything is good again. Really dig this color.
