1998 GT Speed Series Team XL

Very lightweight, 6061–T6 aluminum alloy race frame.  Pro size 20.5” top tube, technically an XL per the serial number.

Sold May 2011 to cimmerian  (frame and nos decals)

I couldn’t get my hands on the LowPro racing fork which came on these, but have heard they are quite heavy.
I did have a nice Answer Alumilite pro fork with blue graphics on black which goes great with my theme.
I put on a set of Spin CR150 Carbon Fiber mag wheels, again with the blue decals.  The original Team Spins had the plain white decals.
Tires are NOS GT AAPRO RACE COMPOUND.
I added a blue anodized GT Piston stem and blue 45t GT sprocket from museum member Nasty.
Pedals are new Redline platforms.
It has 175mm Profile Racing cranks with black anodized MechaniK sealed bottom bracket bearings.
Instead of the original Red Shimano DX brakes, I have set of blue anodized Logan brakes.
Handlebar is a black GT .070 race/trail bar with ATI 955 grips.
Black GT 27.0mm seat post and integrated seat post clamp.
The major departures from a brand and era correct bike are the FMF pro racing seat with titanium rails, and the Cane Creek S-3 sealed bearing headset.

I actually have a set of red Shimano DX brakes that would have be original to this bike.  I'm wondering if it would look better with Chrome bars, black grips, and the red brakes and red brake cable.  Let me know what you think here.
