1980 Mongoose Motomag
1980 Mongoose Motomag
Original WHITE motomag frame/forks !
1980 Mongoose Motomag CHO 324851. I bought this as a project bike right here on BMXmuseum from David (Bigpapes), THANKS David!
It was in original white paint with frame and forks. I stripped the frame and had it powdered. I even powdered the cranks white. The bars and stem are Schwinn, similar to Ashtabula. I had the bars chromed to accent the white frame. BMX Products supplied the decals and mongoose grips.
I still call it a Motomag even though I am running Skyway Tuff II's. I plan on finding some motomags and polish them to add to the bike. Red Sugino chain wheel. Red Rat Trap pedals. Red Lee Chi brakes. Chrome Dia-Comp brake cable straps. Silver Suntour seat post clamp. Generic post and black seat.
I am still looking for RED handle bar pad and stem pad. Even possibly a red Mongoose seat. The bike is NOT perfect but wanted to get some pics submitted before to many scratches and scars from ridding this one!

Re: 1980 Mongoose Motomag
Love the look, it's a lot like my 1979 motomag.
Gotta give props for the rent-a-racer as well.

Re: 1980 Mongoose Motomag
I have a motomag frame originally painted red coming in the mail as I type this. I have a set of Tuff I mags that are black. I am going to copy this bike after seeing this! Awesome color combination. Just love it. Nice job!
