I bought a P17 frame from Bill years ago and never had the chance to build it, until now! Got the bmx bug again!

Re: Finally!! A Powerlite Thread!! I've Been Waiting For One.

Hey guys. Just found this thread. Had a Powerlite join the frey recently. It's a 2001 (from what I can tell) P19 Falcon. Thought it looked cool with the WW2 airplane noseart style decal on the gusset. Got it fairly cheap. I know it's not a particularly desirable model, but it has powerbend bars and "Coqpit" style forks (if I'm terming them correctly). Thinking about dressing it up with some GT parts, as this is a GT-era Powerlite (I think). Thinking Piston stem, Mohawk hubs, an era correct seat and rims, and 3 piece crank of some sort.
Getting this bike got my curiosity going on Powerlite history. I know GT acquired Powerlite in the 80's, and Pacific did in 2001. Who owns the brand now, if even still in production. Online searching has provided little in answers, and Pacific/Dorel doesn't list it as one of their brands now. And does that make mine a pre-Pacific bike?http://uploads.bmxmuseum.com/user-images/260302/20190818_1259495d6601ae42.jpg

Cool bike man!! Do you happen to know the reach on that Powerlite Stem?

Check out my 2013 Pacific Made Powerlite Brawler. I loved the color and it was super cheap and thought it would look cool upgraded with Powerlite and GT parts.

Re: Finally!! A Powerlite Thread!! I've Been Waiting For One.

GT USA Made Stem or Powerlite Stem on my 98 COQpit P61. Also decided on GT Stiletto Forks for it as well.

If the Powerlite Stem had a deeper engraving, I’d hands down pick it but that black GT Piston Stem is killer looking. What do you guys think?
