1980 Redline Proline

Survivor kicked to the curb!

Lucked into this bike coming home from work.  I even gave the previous owner a chance to reconsider.  He said it was mine as long as I took the rest of the bike stuff he was getting rid of. (Mostly junk except for a pair of Weinman 7b copies)
As found--  Redline Proline frame and fork.  Redline brute stem.  Araya 7x rims.  Sunshine hubs.  Takagi crank.  Tuff Neck chainwheel and disc.  Tuff Neck style seat clamp.  Viscount saddle.  GT seatpost.  GT bars.  Dia Compe MX1000 brakeset.  Tange headset.
Added Cheng Shin comp3 style tires, Ame grips, and Victor KKT Lightning copies to make bike rideable.

Last two pics are the day I got it, after cleaning the dirt and duct tape(!) off.

Another bike saved from the landfill, right into the hands of somebody who will appreciate it for what it is!  Nice save.

Re: 1980 Redline Proline

SN is 348xxx.

My first "real" BMX bike!  Only had Huffy, Schwinn, and Roadmaster(ouch!) growing up.  Painful memories of the Roadmaster... downtube split from the BB and bent the forks.  Plan on enjoying this Redline, just wish I had it 25 years ago!

Re: 1980 Redline Proline

On my third set of tires.  Went from gumwall 1.75's to blackwall 2.125's to skinwall staggered set.  I like these best.

Re: 1980 Redline Proline

Your Proline is insane!
I bet it rides like a dream..  and Made in USA

I think the year is late 79 to very early 1980?
They switched the rear dropout in 80...and in 78 they were only white?

itsdug knows

FMF team forks needed, lead would be great                                                                   somewhere beyond insanity
