1982 Murray X20R

the steel version of a common early bmx bike.
I would still like to have a chromoly version.

Team Murray had a feew sponsered riders, and even appeared in pee-wee's big adventure.
I have padsets avaialble for this bike.

Hey Skinnygmg,
I really need some murray forks, so if you end up getting the bike and want to part it out, please let me know.
Thanks,
David

Re: 1982 Murray X20R

The pads are vinyl with velcro, and they are very nice. The "R" is the steel version while the "C" is the chromoly version. Do you have a pic of the one you are interested in???

Re: 1982 Murray X20R

here's what i know...

chrome frame under the black paint.  fork is not chrome.  bars look to be aluminum, but it's not gold ano, as some is scratched/pealing.  rear rim, hub, and coaster break are suntour.  stem is 4 bolt made by WIN BMX.  original grips are not cut through the ends.  chain guard is missing.  pads are vinyl w/snaps, lettering is faded to black on black.  front rim is a replacement.  everything else seems to be original.

Re: 1982 Murray X20R

do you think it's worth the $5? lol
real problem is, if i pick it up, i'm going to want to restore it.  i don't want to spend a lot on it, and i have a bunch of "work in progress" bikes right now.

Re: 1982 Murray X20R

I would most definitely buy it for 5.00.  That's basically free!

Re: 1982 Murray X20R

I would get also for $5. Most parts on it don't seem to be original. Acs stem, seat post clamp, and hubs are orig. Dia compe mx 1000 brakes and sugino spider and chainring were also orig. on an X20R. Also, X20r's were freewheel not coaster brake. I'd still get it for the $5 and try to restore it. Check out mine.
