A few of the original MTV VJ's have shows on Sirius. I've heard Martha Quinn, Nina Blackwood, and a few of the other ones. What about Alan Hunter and the guy with the Hall and Oates perm (can't remember his name, but I saw him hawking some 80's music CD on an infomercial).

Re: best memory from 70s-80s

I'll never forget how having a freewheel on a 20" bike was a status symbol in and of itself. Up until the late 70's/very early 80's the overwhelming number (virtually all) of 20" bikes made came with coaster brakes. In fact, a freewheel on a 20" virtually guaranteed that the bike was a custom assembled, somewhat pricey racer. I remember kids who did have them just loved to back pedal so they and anyone within earshot could hear that distinctive ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ sound. Had I thought of it at the time, I would have bungeed a transistor radio to my handlebars, bought a Mr. Microphone, then cruised by the ladies with this irresistable come on: "Hey good lookin'! Be back to pick you up later!" ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!! That would have gotten 'em for sure!

Re: best memory from 70s-80s

the schwinn bike shop, stickers and parts behind the glass counter, minibike, sears 5hp go-kart, yamaha yz80, trying to avoid the cops while riding in the street or on the sidewalk, the smell of a lawn freshly cut and the money earned, sleepovers with friends, sleeping out on the deck outside and sneaking to roam the neighborhood with the gang, getting fireworks from friends, paging through fireworks catalogs, catching turtles at the local pond, having the popular girl pay some attention to me at a party, birthday and christmas money (and planning to spend it), jaring lightning bugs, getting the junk food at friends houses, envying the bikes older kids had, picking up the brand new bike from toys r us, finding a new christmas present bike hidden in the basement on christmas eve, walking around in toys r us looking for cool stuff,

Re: best memory from 70s-80s

My best memory was actually two things that are connected. Racing bmx... just the whole scene, including the people, tracks and excitement of it all. It was big-time. The bikes... lots of chrome and anodized parts... so, so sweet. Looking up to the pros.. watching them race, getting autographs, following them around and reading about them in the mags. Only thing on my mind was racing, and I miss the simplicity of that.

Re: best memory from 70s-80s

Some of the best things of the 80s, hmm where do we start... DONKEY KONG..Regular Nintendo Entertainment Systems...HUTCH AND CYCLECRAFT RACE BIKES, GT/DYNO BIKES THAT CAME IN COLORS THAT EVEN THE JOKER (Jack Nickolson) WOULD EVEN CRINGE AT, 80s punk bands like Dead Kennedys, Youth of Today, Sick Of It All, VISION STREET WEAR and VANS shoes, Boom Boxes, BMX Races on Saturday nights, Skating or Riding your favorite spots with your buds, RAD- THE MOVIE....HELLTRACK YEAH. Shows at CBGBs in NYC or Stalag 13 in Philly, Going down to the shore with your bike/board. Santa Cruz, Vision, Powell Peralta, Santa Monica Airlines and H-Street skateboards. We could go on and on, but that does some if it for me.
