Re: 2008 Knight Bike Co. Proformer 24

Thanks CoolRider!

Chelsea - I'm planning to contribute to the restoration forum with a how to on the inlay portion of the Nippon arm. If you need details sooner, let me know and i'll write something up to you in a PM. Through trial and error and a tip from another member here, I came up with a solution that works and is pretty durable (almost permanent). It's not rocket science by any means, but you could go wrong and make a mess or damage the arms if you're not careful.

Just curious, no hurry but I can't wait to hear how you did it.  My hand is not steady enough to hand paint those letters in.

Whatever!  Fantastically creative and original.  I really dig this bike and can't wait to see it in action.  Awesome Marcus - cool as hell!

Re: 2008 Knight Bike Co. Proformer 24

Thanks Polanco and Kevin! I took it out today for our Central Park gathering! We were all soaked after a short while and it will need to be torn down and cleaned up, but I'll get to it after drying off a bit  Once again, I love the way it rides! Absolutely fantastic and solid machine.

Some people need to get down off of their crosses, use the wood to build a bridge and GET OVER IT!!!!
I don't build bikes. I just assemble them.

Marcus, holy man this is nice bike. :o Very, very well done.  This is one of the nicest builds I've seen in a long time.  I'm pretty much speechless on this one.  I love the cranks man.  Those cranks look awesome.  (maybe I should use mine someday)  That color is amaaazing.  Definately a show stopper.  You're proving to be one of the museums best bike builders.  I'd definately hire you for building me a bike anyday.  Nice work!!!  :)

Thanks again man! I too am glad we have yet to see any 2 alike! The individuality is great to see and keeps them fresh. :D I'm really surprised yours didn't pull the win at Rockford!!! You would have had my vote for sure!!!

Jason - very kind words from a fantastic builder himself!!! I have to thank you for pointing out the unstamped knockoff cranks on the bay! Of course, ultrahive topped it off with the awesome stencil decals, but im grateful to you for the tip because I actually prefer the black arms over the silver Primo's that I have. I highly recommend you use yours! ;) I would love to work on a bike with you one day! I think we have a lot of the same ideas and preferences. Thanks again.
Marcus

LOL! Thanks! I know how you feel...there are so many awesome builds here that I wish I could do the same!

Louis/ultrahive - thanks to you too man. Those Power Series decals you made me look great on those black arms right?

Re: 2008 Knight Bike Co. Proformer 24

I never get tired of looking at this thing. :)

Did you get it cleaned up nicely after sloppy rain-fest NYC ride?

My bike still has some park sludge on it. and some rust.

Ha, yeah, I believe so! But, you know how it is. There's probably some park sludge residing in there somewhere. When I got home after that day's ride and when I pulled it up on the back wheel to navigate a flight of stairs, all of this water just came gushing out from the seat post!!! Now I remember why I was anal enough as a teen to squeeze some caulk into all the open tubes of my bikes!!!

LOL! Tell me about it! I had their bikes to chase them down with if needed. It was actually pretty cool to see my own bike in action. Now I just have to grow a pair and try to regain some of the skills of my youth! ;)

That's freakin awesome
I saw lou's shots of your bike in action on OS.

Looks great. I'm glad the geometry was good enough on a cruiser - for some real freetylin'

:)
