1988 Redline RL-20II

SOLD

This is a custom painted, custom built, 1988 model RL-20II.  Patriotic colors of red, white, and blue.  Everything is NOS except the seat, which is the 88 RL-20II seat that is not as white as I wanted.  The cranks are the older Torker 3pcs chromoly cranks with sealed bearings.  They are NOT the Monster cranks. Wheels are a custom built Redline sealed hub with older 7X Araya chrome 48 hole rims and red/blue nipples.

Re: 1988 Redline RL-20II

That's really cool! I can't say I've seen clear pedals before, but I like 'em. I always like something a little bit custom too like that paint job. :D

I really like bikes!!!

I was thinking about buying this too but I'm glad to see it completely built. A nice, original take on a classic bike. Who did the decals?

Re: 1988 Redline RL-20II

Thanks for all the nice comments.  I figured I'd build this one, since no one wanted the frame and forks.  It also figures though, once I started building it.....I got a few emails, "...you still have the frame and forks for sale??...". :)

The red and blue in the paint is flushed out in the photos, but those colors actually do look vivid live.  I think I need some more "red" some place, but not sure...

Those are the new Odyssey Twisted pedals.  I have more of these pedals, new, and cheap, if anyone is interested.  I have solid white and black too.

I simple had the REDLINE down tube decal printed at a local place.  They are actually the same ones from the 24K Gold RL-20II "Final Run" bike I built.

You probably can not see them, but the original 1988 model decal in on the top tube, and the "Full Chromoly" is on the rear upper chain stays.

Re: 1988 Redline RL-20II

I can not remember, but it was about what the guy on ebay is selling it for now :-)

I'd also ask questions about the wheels, since he is calling them ACS wheels?  They are suppose to be sealed Redline hubs and Araya 48 hole 7X rims.  Also, with the red and blue spoke nipples...
