Re: 1986 CW Racing California FreeStyle
I think this is my favorite Cali yet.
Chrome and green with a little white is so dang fresh! Call this one Irish Spring!!! lol!
nice job on the components. Tioga all the way baby!
I might not deliver when I say I will, but when I do it's always right on time.
It's not my birthday, but that's my name on the cake

Re: 1986 CW Racing California FreeStyle
Very nice build. Love the color combination. CW had some cool stuff BITD - as well as one of the most innovative freestyle teams. Anyway, that drain pipe seat post looks like it has one extra bend at the top-tube / seat tube junction - is it me or is the picture playing tricks with my eyes?

lol, its not your eyes playin' tricks. This drain pipe post IS on backwards. CW had REALLY steep seat post angles back in the day so they actually came out with a "lay up" seat post (incredibly hard to find) that allowed riders to get up closer on the frame when riding. I believe Mike Buff used both the "lay up" post and a backwards drain pipe like this one some of his rides. Here is a side shot so you can see. Thanks for the compliments,

I really wanted to use a laidback (and mounted one) but the seat was right over the rear tire and I would've needed ape hangers (tilted all the way back) to ride!
