Re: 1994 GT Fueler

I just picked up one these -and curiously it has the same seat post clamp.  Is that original on yours or just a coincidence?

Stuff I want: 2000 24" DB Reactor Team frame ,  Voxom and Enigma stuff. Alliant / Radix stem and stuff.  JW and Stiffys stuff.  Cool late mid-school cruiser parts.

Re: 1994 GT Fueler

Thats an early 95...
First thing they did with the 95's is change the Fueler to yellow and the looks of the dropouts, then because the yellow Fueler decal didnt go over well, they changed all the decals to solid red.
But yeah, look at the production number on your's, way too low to be a 94 anyways...

its definitely a 94. these dropouts were the ones used on production framesets, the odd looking ones shown in the 94 catalog were never used.
and may 94 would be waaay too early for gt to be making 95 models.
let alone 95's had entirely different decals.
and the low production number aint really all that low when you think about, its the 80th one made in may, they made a crap load more than that each month...

GT regularly made the next years model in the middle of the previous year in order to have the new bikes in all the shops for Christmas shoppers. I dont believe they started a new production # each month like they did in the early 80's. I think they are the yearly total for that particular production line, thats why they have a little circled number under the serial # for the line.
I just dont see alot of low production #'s on 90's GT's theyre usually high in the thousand's.
The 95 catalogs have the same decals as that except in the 95 catalog theyre changed to red. GT also made 2 different decals for the 90 Performers so thats not really out of the ordinary to change the colors on them after starting production.
But it is your bike and it was made in 94 so call it whichever year you prefer.

gt never made the following year's models in the previous year's financial 2nd quarter.
may 94 is a definite 94 model frame.
they never ever had those funky dropouts shown in the 94 catalog on any production fueler.
gt catalogs are notorious for being inaccurate, case being the decals and dropouts on the fueler in the 94 catalog.

If they start making them the middle of each year then May would be around the end of the 4'th quarter not the 2'nd.

94 serial, 94 decals, 94 frame, 94 94 94....
its not anything but a 94. look in the may 94 bmx plus, they test the brand new for 94 frameset!
its a 94. end of discussion.
