Re: 1985 VDC Freestyler

Beautiful bike and I'm no expert but it's been my understanding that the 84's had the illustrious pierced head tube and that the ones without were later ? Maybe 85 ? Also heard somewhere that Vorris sold the company just before the change in the frame...or something like that ? Maybe someone more knowledgeable then myself will clarify ? Anyway it is still insane and ultra rare not to mention something I've wanted for years.

very jealous LOL Great bike you musta been the talk of your town BITD

Heck yes. I really like survivor bikes. This one looks like it's seen some serious business.

Re: 1985 VDC Freestyler

Isn't this the one that was just on CL?  So I guess you thought better of selling?  Good decision. :D

Re: 1985 VDC Freestyler

This is quite a find. I know of a 1st gen (1984) and a 2nd (1985), but this one seems to fit between the 2. The 2 downtubes pierce through the top tube like the 1st gen's, but the top tube doesnt seem to pierce the headtube like either the 1st or 2nd gen's do. So maybe there were 3 generations.

Re: 1985 VDC Freestyler

I would keep the profiles on it. Just get a new spacer and maybe new bearing. They still make those and are easily found at most bike shops or online. Sick ride indeed. :D

Re: 1985 VDC Freestyler

Very nice.

Also noted that the 2nd and 3rd gen frames dont have oval top tubes - they are round. All my gen 1's have oval tubes.
