1978 Team Mongoose

This was one of the first Old School projects I did. I bought the bike around 2001. It's gone through a few changes since then. I started with a '78 Team all chromoly frame and fork. Had them powder coated candy red over a nickle base. The decals are the reproductions that were through through Randy from the old "OldSchoolBMX" page. The fork decals are nos originals. Bike is set up with: -Araya 7B rims laced up with Shimano high flange hubs. -Cheng Shin tires (comp II style???) -Shimano Dura-Ace crank set -Unknown pedals, (they were on the bike when I bought it from the original owner) -Mongoose Gold Stem -Redline V-Bars -Oakley 1 grips -Mongoose suede saddle -No name fluted seat post -Unstamped seat post clamp -Shimano brake with Dia-Comp lever

Re: 1978 Team Mongoose

Dang dude, really sweet ride.
I can't believe you posted this back on the 21st of May and nobody else has commented on your goose yet.

I'm looking for the following frames, frame & forks or completes by BMX products:
MotoTrac (nickle or chrome), Racer-X or a Super-X (with the double gussets).
Thanks wink

What the hey at least you've gotten it completed and posted.

Re: 1978 Team Mongoose

this is a really nice build Jamie..too many sweet parts to single out but i will say this...just finding that seat must've taken you awhile.

i'm hoping that both of my Mongoose builds turn out even half as nice as this one did.

Re: 1978 Team Mongoose

That brings back some good memories!
I had one just like that as a kid.
Enjoy!

One of the nicest Mongoose's on here  cool

Grammar is important. Capital letters are the difference between helping your Uncle Jack off a horse, and helping your uncle jack off a horse.
