1987 Mongoose Pro Miniscoot 14
1987 Mongoose Pro Miniscoot 14
Back from the dead!
I picked this up from Koondogg last year and figured it was likely headed to a scrap yard. After I bleached/cleaned the mags, I knew I had to do something with it. Frame/Forks/Bars were blasted and painted with custom House of Color paint. Custom decals to match originals done by Beast44k and added new Spintech system (NOS) and white A'me grips. I was also lucky enough to find the gumwall tires and purple dice caps. Brake drum was chromed to offset the white in the rear mag. The deck, mags, and most of the hardware is originial, included a before pic for comparison. The color in the pics don't do the true color justice but hope you enjoy anyway. Thanks for looking.

Re: 1987 Mongoose Pro Miniscoot 14
True this is a nice scoot you got here!
Anybody looking for one of these scoots?
I have a buddy with a Teal & white one sitting in his storage, wasting away.
It looks entirely OG, right down to the rotted gumwall & white tires.
LMK, Johnny G.
I'm looking for the following frames, frame & forks or completes by BMX products:
MotoTrac (nickle or chrome), Racer-X or a Super-X (with the double gussets).
Thanks

I'm also johnng23604 at "Retro-goose", "VintageBMX" & "RADbmx"

Take some pics! I (and a few others) are always looking for scoots.

Dude, that is a rare scoot you are working on. What size tires are on it? Got any pics? I might have a set of white tires, gotta check the ol' parts stash.

Re: 1987 Mongoose Pro Miniscoot 14
I want to say 8.5 inch from what I can measure. Its all original from when I was younger. Just needs a little cleaning...
I uploaded the pics on my bike page. Let me know if the tires you have will work on this scooter.

NICE! That 87 looks to be in great shape. I have a pink one for my daughter. If you have time, this is a good thread. Check it out...

Re: 1987 Mongoose Pro Miniscoot 14
Cool thread.... Forgot how fun these things were and the different comp. that cashed in on the cow. Realized when I got home that the miniscoot was an 87, same yr as my first real freestyle bike ( a mongoose decade). Love these scoots, especially since at that time my fam. was so broke that the scooter I was rockin was a Curb Cruiser! Glad I can hook up my daughters now with the rides I always wanted as a kid. And even better that they appreciate the rides and history behind them.
