1995 Boss Hogg 24
1995 Boss Hogg 24
Bought in the summer of 1995 right after the Snap magazine cruiser review came out. When I received it from Dan's Comp it was missing one of the cantilever mounting posts, the welded on parts were there just the 'pin' was missing, so I had no way to mount my brakes. I was able to get the part from Jesse @ Boss and included in the package were a decal sheet and two extra sets of pads (chrome being one of them).
The only changes that I have made since then were the seat and pedals.
Edit (Summer 2011): I've now boxed up the original fork and wheel set and replaced them with Bombshell products. Total weight = 25.15 lbs
Components:
Boss - Frame, fork, cranks, spider, bars & pad set
DK - Hubs, seat post, seat post clamp & neck
Dia Compe - 985 brakes
Odyssey - Pitbull lever
Araya - Rims
AME - Tri Grips.
KMC - Chain
Wellgo - Pedals

Re: 1995 Boss Hogg 24
The serial number is actually AC31, maybe it was sitting around for a few years before I bought it? Bought it by mail order in the summer of 95 from Dan's.

Re: 1995 Boss Hogg 24
I believe that you are right and I have changed the year to 1993. I noticed before originally posting it that I could only find one bike with the same stickers, and it was a '93. Now I see there is a new '93 posted and it has the same stickers as well. So at this point I am pretty sure that mine is also a 1993 model.
Thanks for posting and pointing me in the right direction. I was never sure what year I had after looking around here but now I am just about positive that you are right about the year.

Re: 1995 Boss Hogg 24
Well, after some discussions on here it seems that my bike is a 1995. Apparently the canti mounts didn't come out until that year so I am changing my year of manufacture back.
Here are a few new pics of all my boss gear and the new seat, grips and pedals that I put on it. I'm still not sure about the pedals, but I think I will leave them on for now while I ride it to save the triple traps. Thinking about getting some different rims too in order to save the original ones and keep me from damaging them.
Not looking to sell anything at the moment (pads and decals) in case I build up another.

Re: 1995 Boss Hogg 24
At some point in the not so distant future I am going to build up another bike with a blue scheme so I'll need the blue pad set. And the chrome pads are showing some wear so I am going to 'retire' (and save for later) them soon and start riding it with the black set.
I can see what I can do about scanning and/or printing out sticker sheets based on the original set but that might take me a little while to get around too. I'm a little light on cash right now so pretty much all bike options are on temporary hold for me at the moment.
Any suggestions on the best way for me to make a new set of stickers based on scans from my original set? If you know how or can point me toward a link that explains it would be greatly appreciated.
