2009 Standard 125R

Custom powdered forks and bars to match the green frame.

Originally ordered on Oct 31, 08.  I had to wait for the forks.  The package just arrived 4/16/09.
The idea was to do a mostly USA sourced steel build on a budget.  Tried to do a clean build of green black and polished.
Here's the list of parts  in the pic for the build.
Frame    SBC
Fork       SBC
Grips      ODI S&M Lock on Race (black)
Bars       SBC
Headset  Eastern (black)
Seat        S&M Thin Seat (black)
Clamp     Profile slim jim(polished)
Chain Tensioners    Profile (polished)
Brakes    Tektro V brake kit (silver)
Chain      KMC 3/32 chain (chrome)
BB           Profile Euro BB (silver)
Pedals     Wellgo MG-1 (black)
black seat post (used),
FMF wheels (used) with 15t freewheel,
Siren tires (used),
profile acoustic stem (used polished)
profile cranks (used)
profile 44t chain wheel (used polished).

This is the the racer I decommissioned to build the 125R.  Big change, eh?

Thanks man.  It's about as green as green gets.  Grass greenish.

That's sick.  I love it.  IMO you should have the seat post powdered green too.

Re: 2009 Standard 125R

Thanks.  i thought about striping the post and polishing it, but not powdering it green.  Maybe I'll photoshop it and see wink

Here's the bike and my boy at the track.
I didn't race, went and just did four laps after my son's baseball game.  Baseball is like a sport without all that pesky excitement.

I was taking it very very easy and was tired on the third corner of the first lap.  Totally gassed by the third corner of the second lap and too dizzy to go on after the fourth lap.  big_smile  I need to get in better shape.

It felt like quality.  I've never had such a nice ride and I can really feel a difference.  Super light and easily tossed, though I kept myself as near the ground as possible.  I looped out trying to manual the first time, but just put a foot down.  No crashing allowed smile.  Some more laps needed.

Re: 2009 Standard 125R

Thanks.

It raced it's first national this weekend.  Took me to a third place finish all three days.

I noticed two other Stds there this weekend.  THEY were always out front smile...  My bike needs a better rider wink

But, I finally started racing it just last week and it's my fav. bike of all time.  Even the memories of past bikes as a kid can't compare.

Re: 2009 Standard 125R

I took up the track this year (first time @ 42 years old) and I've been riding S&M, and happy with it.

But I wanted a race bike, so I found a 125r on the bay (old enough to still have American BB)

That bike is soooo much lighter, faster, and easier to manual. I was thinking it would hold the place until I could afford a .38 special, but now I just want to get one like yours.

Fantastic bike. I'll keep my S&M stuff, but I think I just became a Standard guy.

I like new school, it's all I ride.
I love to look at all BMX bikes, I just love the sport.

Thanks, all.

Tell Jess @ SBC I sent you.  It won't get YOU any special treatment, but maybe it will me, next time tongue wink.

Working with the guys at SBC couldn't be easier.  Cool crew over there.
