What does the SST stand for the Robinson bikes

Are Robinson SST's good bikes? What does the SST stand for, is it a racing bike or an entry level one especially a 1993? thanks

Re: What does the SST stand for the Robinson bikes

Believe it or not, I'm sitting here wearing a blue longsleeve Robinson T shirt, and I have a nice 1999 SST.    I've also wondered, but I remember something about Super Strong......(something)????

Sure I'll look like a bear at the circus, but I'll get a little fun out of it.

sst would be the interceptor of the Robinson line
the mx would be the mach one

rebel<sst<mx<pro<amtrac,team,etc

etc? Would that be the 86 Robinson Freestyler? tongue

and I think it would go like this, rebel, sst, pro,mx,team, amtrac, freestyler. Because you can find pro's all over, but the mx is a little harder to find just like an amtrac. cool

aren't all frames made of the same steal material? lol, an SST could be a PRO and vice versa if the sweatshop lady in taiwan, china or even the US mixed up the decals, lol. same thing with a mach one or interceptor. its all about the decals. i think people make to big of a deal. its all the same.

I don't know much about the Robinson line.  What makes it "garbage"?

They are not garbage at all. Atleast the ones in the early 90s where still full chromo and american made. I'm thinking the only difference between that and a pro or pro xl is the top tube length. almost certain it's the same exact tubing.

Re: What does the SST stand for the Robinson bikes

I have never even seen a no- cro-mo Robinson, which one is mild steel?

I have never seen a garbage Robinson either and think that comparing any robinson to a mach 1 or interceptor is a little harsh.

Re: What does the SST stand for the Robinson bikes

I think what makes a Mach one or interceptor a better bike is what parts you slap on them.

Re: What does the SST stand for the Robinson bikes

I had a 94 Rebel. and I know it was the cheapest Robinson available. but it definatly wasnt junk and it was the evy of all my friends with GT freestyle bikes. It was stolen and I miss it. I have a mint 99 perfomer that I would trade in a heart beat for another robinson. The rebel might be too small for me these days though, lol.

Both statements reflect lack of knowledge on the authors parts.  If you lack the knowledge needed to make an intelligent post please refrain from running off at the keyboard.  This is not a slam to your intelect but in this case it is clear you both have no clue what your talking about.  Please don't be offended it was not my intention to offend but to defend.

SST is not a garbage bike and neither is a mach one or interceptor.
