Re: Ask the dumbest BMX question you can think of

Why do people pay sooooo much for hutch stuff ??
And why do Redline flights(401's) go for sooo much. They seem to be about the most common cranks. I see more of those for sale than ANY other cranks.
P.S. I know the answer, just thought it would be the dumbiest question I could ask. lol

Really?

Yep... the small side on the back of the calipers is used for measuring inside diameters (ie. seat post holes in frames) and the large set of calipers is used for measuring outside diameters such as seatposts and bottom bracket spindles...

If I need to know what fits my bike, I just measure it and then order the right part. The only time I get hosed is if the seller didn't measure the part right that they are selling me... but that rarely happens...

Ask what size seatpost fits a Standard 125R and you'll probably get 3 different answers... because size specs change... so it pays to know what size your parts are...

Vernier Calipers will pay for themselves the first time you use them... and you'll never go without them again!
