1984 Skyway T/A XL

best bmx frame design ever

I love these frames. I bought this (along with a few others) direct from Skyway in 1992 as NOS still in box for $50 a frame. I was offered forks for an additional $10 but I declined (kick my head now). Me and a buddy bought six? altogether. I kept three, I rode two and kept one NOS. This one I had painted '69 Chrysler lime at a buddy's auto body shop. I rode this frame for freestyle/street in '97-'98.

Re: 1984 Skyway T/A XL

If I knew then what I know now, I would've left them both white. I painted them both in '96 or '97. I always liked '69 Chrysler lime

Re: 1984 Skyway T/A XL

So dirt cheap then huh? Because Skyway was getting out of the BMX business, and probably because they thought BMX wouldn't make a big enough comeback.

I got a similar story, but I kick myself for not taking advantage of it. In 1994, a local bike shop had a complete 1984 looptail PK Ripper leftover that they never sold, brand spanking new. It was the white/blue scheme with blue tires, blue Tuf neck, blue Uni hammer head, blue ACS Z-rims, you get the picture. The sticker price was $450, I offered $400, they counteroffered for something like $450 out the door. I was too cheap...I regret it now. hmm

Being an adult is the dumbest thing I've ever done.

A Redline, the fastest way between two points.

Give A Shift! Save the manual.

Did you turn it off and then turn it back on?
