Re: S&M hoarders unite

Got this about as cheaply as you can get such a hard to find frame.

Hopefully when I am done it will look like this again.

This is the only frame I will not build. I want it back to stock, put in a case and on my bedroom wall.

Super cool. I always regret selling my NOS V1 Cam wood! I’m building up a V2 Cam Wood right not that looks to be the total opposite of what you are doing haha.

Re: S&M hoarders unite

After regretting selling my NOS V1 Cam Wood and roached out V2 I finally picked another V2 up. This one has a nice patina going already. I am planning on rawing the forks, bars, cranks, and seat post. Then probably leave everything outside with a special formula to get it to rust out a tad then clear it all. Going to cut off the welded on seat post clamp. Not sure about the tan walls yet but I am going to give it a try.

Re: S&M hoarders unite

Oo nice man. Lovely to see Proper parts in the U.S too they are something of a rarity.

I bought some S&M stuff today as it goes.

https://s3.amazonaws.com/uploads.bmxmuseum.com/user-images/41840/seat6082d7283a.jpg

https://s3.amazonaws.com/uploads.bmxmuseum.com/user-images/41840/post6082d7233a.jpg

https://s3.amazonaws.com/uploads.bmxmuseum.com/user-images/41840/clamp6082d71729.jpg

Those are going on my T1 and I got these at "regular price"* for my Standard Strip Bars for my STA.

https://s3.amazonaws.com/uploads.bmxmuseum.com/user-images/41840/grips6082d71d34.jpg

* basically there is this company here that buys that stuff in at trade price. The RRP is £9.99. This company then hides them until all of the stock runs out, then puts them on Ebay for this much.

https://s3.amazonaws.com/uploads.bmxmuseum.com/user-images/41840/ffs608339d049.jpg

3X RRP. The sickening part is that company are a LBS, but the owner is a greedy dick. At one point he was selling the repop Mushroom 2 dual colour for £70 a set. when the RRP was like £20 tops.

Thing is? that has made me refuse to buy anything from him at all. So he's not really helping himself. He may scalp someone stupid but he's lost all sales from me. Which, when you are a buyer? is a stupid thing to do.

If I pooled my parts and did a few swaps here and there I could probably build an all S&M S&M (well apart from wheels and cranks obs) but I CBA. I love my Metal Kizz. Really don't see the point in having another new school rider. I've been looking for a U.S made S&M frame for ages now. Both used and new. Saw this a while ago.

https://s3.amazonaws.com/uploads.bmxmuseum.com/user-images/41840/shit60833a7ceb.jpg

Went to go buy it, then they pull this shit.

https://s3.amazonaws.com/uploads.bmxmuseum.com/user-images/41840/dirty60833a8a09.jpg

IE - it's Google shopping bait roll It's not just them at it either. Loads of shops do it. You get there and the old bait and switcheroo occurs roll

Oh yeah, grabbed a T too.

Missed a bit. Sorry, was mad busy earlier. I had only seen the frame once before. One of the old school lot was banging on about it (probably because of the logo). I know that the F-it Aitken with the Mongoose sorta decals is really desirable also. Well, to the old school lot.

I wasn't looking for a frame today. I already did my budget on parts lol but I know when something like this comes along you have to jump on it, or someone else will. As soon as I posted it on another forum (which is nearly all old school apart from me) one of the guys said he was going to buy it this evening also. So I am glad I pounced, even if it leaves me borrowing money from myself until Tuesday.

What I did do was get around Ebay so saved myself a large chunk of coin. Managed to insert the "FB group?" into the message I sent and found him on Facebook. Have done that twice now.

Well I'd build and ride it at least once before it gets restored.

Re: S&M hoarders unite

I would, but. I have one new school bike (My Kizz) and I am not taking it apart. That means if I built this I would need to spend a grand on it. Which I am not doing. Not because of the cash, but literally because I would have nowhere to put it.

I *may* strip my Mirra and wall hang that frame. Throw on a couple of my spare S&M parts. We'll see.

Looks like just a tune up and a bucket of soap will do it, good shape there.

Couple of little things need to be done. Not a fan of the cranks so not sure on those. Need to figure out tires too. I am very happy about the condition.

If you're open to suggestions, I've been swapping all my old school over to Mission Transit V2 3pc cranks, with their bottom bracket it only runs about $80 and they're as good as anything for general use, lots of color choices as well.

That was likely sold as a complete. The cranks are probably NSF. Are the rims decaled NSF? If so they are all original parts at time of purchase. I would leave that bad boy as is, its awesomeness!

Re: S&M hoarders unite

Can someone with a stock CW V1 help me out please?

I am going to redraw the decals to get them printed by a friend. I'm good on what I need for the down tube and rear stays, but I just can't get my head around the TT decal. This one to be exact.

https://s3.amazonaws.com/uploads.bmxmuseum.com/user-images/41840/s1600_128166920_1267742924608eccfd82.jpg

If you have one can you please get me some pics from above, both sides and below? that one is a real mind frank !

In return I will send you the full vector decals.

TIA.

P.S. I am going to build it. Going to strip my Mirra and use some of the parts. Not all, I want some S&M goodies on there too.

Would love to find my old Dirt Bike.  It was stolen in Pompano Beach, Florida in about 1996.  It's a '92 with the block graphics on a Green frame.  Pitchforks, Slam bars, King Headset, GT (DK-style) stem and GT/Profile cranks.  Superlace hubs.  Would really love to put this back in my collection.
