GT Performer color matching

Has anybody here ever matched GT colors?
I'm trying to match 86 Performer lavender.
Is there a "color code" or something that anybody has ever sourced?

Thanks
Andy

Re: GT Performer color matching

Are you looking to paint or powder the bike?
If you are looking to powder the bike, the closest match offerred by Tiger Powder Coatings is:

TIGER Drylac: 49/32280
Color: RAL 4008
Quality: Polyester

Hope this helps.

Re: GT Performer color matching

I don't have a color sample plate for that one, but here's a comparison from an original GT blue and a powdered PFT. The color is dead on!
http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b202/acuzerfdw/Color%20Codes%20And%20Samples/IMG_0176.jpg

I believe this is the info for that color:

TIGER Drylac: 49/43170
Color: RAL 5012

Color should be the same for '86 and '87.

Re: GT Performer color matching

Yeah, I have the one for pink too. Here is an NOS pink GT forkstander next to a powdered Gt mallet stem. The color is perfect!

Here's the info for that color:

TIGER Drylac: 49/32270
RAL: 4003

Re: GT Performer color matching

You got me. I don't have grey... yet. I'm trying to find a GT part in grey so I can match it up. From pics that I've seen, it could be one of two greys that Tiger offers, but I couldn't be certain of which one it is.

Yes and sometimes the codes can`t be crossed over to paint depending on the paint brand.

Re: GT Performer color matching

I got one done in grey finally! I can't remember the color code for it, but once I get back home in a couple of weeks I'll look it up and post it along with better pics. I'm not 100% positive if this is the correct shade or not as it seems to look darker or lighter, depending on light. I'll try to get something though.

*edit* here's the code for the grey I used:  RAL 7032  49/72910

Re: GT Performer color matching

This is the place I've used in the past:

El Monte Plating
11409 Stewart St,
El Monte, CA 91731
(626) 448-3607

There are a couple other places in So Cal that other local members have used. Hopefully they'll chime in with some info.

Anybody have the code for white or would I be better off just taking my frame down to the automotive paint store for a match?
