1984 GJS Freestyler

Possibly the only lavendar GJS Freestyler ever to come from the factory

I purchased a chrome f&f set around 83-84, when I recieved the set the chrome was peeling. I called GJS and they said they would gladly re-chrome it or I can have one in any color I wanted. I chose lavendar, and I believe I may have the only one ever made in this color by GJS. lavendar was not one of their "stock" colors and I believe they did this for me for customer satisfaction. I sold the bike around 1988 when I got my first car, and I bought it back from the cousin of the person I sold it to a few months ago. The only items that were changed were the wheels, brakes, chain seat and seat post. Im going to do a complete resto on everything!!

Black and white picture from 10th grade Photo class. I will be done with the resto soon.

THIS IS A PICTURE OF A PICTURE AND YOU CAN JUST SEE THE BOTTOME EDGE OF A POSTER I HAD HANGING IN MY ROOM. THE POSTER WAS OF THE 1984 SUZUKI QUADRACER, WHICH KIND OF DATES THE PICTURE.

I agree, I would think an original, one of a kind bike with the original finish would be more appealing. It certainly is to me. It will never be original again....... Not that it really matters what I think.

I wish more people would leave these gems in original condition.

Awesome bike either way!

I hate to rain on your parade but I had a Lavender and pink GJS freestyler.  My bike started off pink around the headset and faded to lavender at about the brace of the down tube.  So about the back 75% of the frame was the same lavender as your bike.  Mine also had the square lower rear tubes.   I would still have my bike if my dad hadn't given it away at a shriners garage sale for underprivileged kids without my knowledge.   Some REALLY lucky kid ended up with it!
